New Entrants

~ Our first entrant comes from Fitz & The Tantrums this week. HandClap is definitely something that took me a while to like. I didn't like this song at first. When it entered HitBound, I reconsidered my hatred towards this song and it's actually quite fun. So, I hope it does well here.

~ Next up this week was Lukas Graham returning after one so-so and one godawful hit. You're Not There is just quite average at the moment. I have swayed between enjoying this song and hating it, but at the moment its just whatever. I wouldn't really love for this song to stay long, but it probably will considering the obsession with the last two songs from this band.

~ Lastly this week, we have Shawn Mendes returning here rather high up with Mercy. I really am enjoying its tenure already. I can just say that I want this to replace Treat You Better in the coming weeks and be higher up among the rest of the songs here.

Best Debut Of The Week: Shawn Mendes - Mercy

HitBound

  • Daya - Words
  • Ed Sheeran - Shape Of You (DEBUT)
  • Machine Gun Kelly & Camila Cabello - Bad Things
  • Maty Noyes - In My Mind
  • Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah)
  • Gavin DeGraw - She Sets The City On Fire
  • MAX/Gnash - Lights Down Low (DEBUT)
  • Captain Cuts/Nateur - Love Like We Used To
  • The Weeknd/Daft Punk - I Feel It Coming (DEBUT)
  • Calum Scott - Dancing On My Own
  • Little Mix - Shout Out To My Ex
  • Rihanna - Love On The Brain
  • Bruno Mars - Versace On The Floor
  • Hey Violet - Guys My Age
  • [Alternate: Ed Sheeran - Castle On The Hill (DEBUT)]

You're Not Blurbs

~ I hadn't expected the occurrence of Maroon 5 - Don't Wanna Know at #1 this week, but every year, the first week is always a little wonky.

~ I really would've appreciated it if Bruno Mars - 24K Magic hadn't made a comeback into the top 10 this week. It should be on the decline by now.

~ I'm liking the presence of Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side To Side in the top 10. Also, the departure of Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better is almost refreshing.

~ Adele - Water Under The Bridge needs to make a move. I wish this song would just enter the top 10 already, it's worthy.

~ X Ambassadors - Unsteady continues to make my ears bleed. I wish this song would just leave already, I mean its been here for months on end, can't it just give up already?

~ Just when I say it was okay for Ariana Grande - Into You to start declining, it makes a nice jump back into the top 20. I really am not complaining about this at all, though.

~ I really wish that a drop from Zayn & Taylor Swift - I Don't Wanna Live Forever hadn't happened. Hopefully it will make a quick recovery and be on the fast track to the top of the countdown again.

~ I could really have some entertainment here if Steve Aoki & Louis Tomlinson - Just Hold On made a freaking move here. I mean, this is the one song I thought would shoot into the teens on its second week, but I guess I have been stood up.

~ I really wasn't expecting the dip from Charli XCX - After The Afterparty. I hope it makes a recovery, but that is hard to tell honestly.

~ Well, it's nice to see a good piece of work holding on here, as DNCE - Body Moves has been down low like this for weeks and still hasn't exited. I really would love to see this one make a recovery, but it doesn't seem likely at this point in time.

~ I really wasn't seeing that big drop from Pitbull/Flo Rida/Lunchmoney Lewis - Greenlight, but, boy am I glad it happened. Hopefully this song leaves in the coming weeks.

~ Lastly, I would like to recognize our new suckiest song on the countdown, Kenny Chesney/P!nk - Setting The World On Fire and I sure hope this is an exit next week.

  1. Add a smiley face at the end (like I did) to show how you feel about Girls Talk Boys leaving.

P.S. Unsteady will never give up, neither will The Greatest.
