200,000 Pageview Speical - Hot 80 of 2018 Rankdown

*DISCLAIMER: Pulse Music Board receives credit for this idea.

Hey guys! On this blog, I have been gathering data for the past few weeks now to host a rankdown. I really enjoy this concept, as I feel as if everyone's opinions are equally taken into count when conducting a list. I would love to do more of these in the future, if you guys enjoy how this one turns out.

For the rankdown, I composed a list of the eighty most successful songs on my personal chart this year--and left them for you all to rank. I liked this idea, seeing as you guys were able to rank what were essentially my top eighty favorites of the year, and to really get a grasp on what my true opinions were.

Now, for any of you who do not know how this is going to work, I have listed the 80 songs that are subject to rankdown below. Each participant has ranked each song according to their personal opinion. I have averaged the ranks for each song on the list. The song with the lowest average rank will be #80 on the rankdown list and the song with the highest average rank will be #1 on the rankdown list. Each song that will be presented will be accompanied with its average rank, standard deviation (to show the amount of differentiation in opinion), median rank, the rank on my list, each participant's ranks, and my review of the song. There will also be interesting tidbits of statistics and reviews of other songs from this year in between the reporting of results.

Now, I will present to you the list of eighty songs that have been ranked in this competition.

My Thoughts

Extras & Other Information

In between the results, I will review other songs from the year that did not make the list in the end. It will be just like it is on my countdown posts, giving my ultimate opinion on each song. I encourage you to voice your opinions as well.

There will be three sets of extra songs to review in between the ranks--after every other report of results. I have not yet decided the number of songs I will review in between, but it will likely be five each time.

Results Overview

There will be a large difference in opinion in this competition, so I ask that respect is given in the comments section. Again, the songs are ranked based on their average rankings. Now, there were seven ties in average ranks within this competition, which was interesting in my opinion. In that event, the song that I believe is better will be placed higher.

Let's begin!

80. Halsey - Without Me

Average Rank: #69.00
Standard Deviation: 12.558
Median: 76

Listed Rank: #80

47. Scott Strong
54. WAMB10
67. CC
76. Jorge
79. Waffle
80. Dylan
80. Nick Perkins

Comments: Contrary to what seems to be popular opinion, I do like this song. I was not surprised to see this one be the first to go--as well as being the only song to match its original rank.

Dylan and Nick have already knocked off their bottom rankings. Waffle and Jorge lose a song from their bottom 10s.

79. Lauv - I Like Me Better

Average Rank: #60.43
Standard Deviation: 23.354
Median: 66

Listed Rank: #64

10. Scott Strong
49. Dylan
59. CC
66. Nick Perkins
79. WAMB10
80. Jorge
80. Waffle

Comments: This song has obviously been one of my favorites this year. I like the innovation. It is something new and different from what you normally hear on the radio nowadays. The vocals that Lauv provides on this song, and all of his others are light and breezy and have a more detached vibe to them. I am not surprised that this one ended up being the second to go, but I wished it could have been a little higher.

Scott is the first to lose a song in his top 10 and Jorge and Waffle have now lost their bottom rankings. WAMB10 loses a bottom 10.

78. Billie Eilish & Khalid - Lovely

Average Rank: #59.86
Standard Deviation: 18.287
Median: 71

Listed Rank: #24

24. Jorge
45. Nick Perkins
55. Dylan
71. Waffle
72. WAMB10
73. CC
79. Scott Strong

Comments: I mainly like this song due to its ability to convey its meaning in such a nice way. It tells a tale of heartache and the lyrics are presented in such a cinematic manner. It also helps that Billie Eilish has such a unique voice. This is the first song from her in which I realized that her voice is truly different. She can go from low to high in seconds, sounding beautiful in any regards, and it truly shows in this song. I am sad to see this one get knocked off this fast, but it's not my opinion in play here. So, onward and upward.

Several participants lose a member of their bottom 10 here.

77. Gabbie Hanna - Honestly

Average Rank: #58.00
Standard Deviation: 21.764
Median: 66

Listed Rank: #16

17. CC
34. Jorge
61. Waffle
66. WAMB10
73. Nick Perkins
77. Dylan
78. Scott Strong

Comments: I like this song, and I know many are not a huge fan of YouTubers turned singers, but I feel like Gabbie Hanna definitely is one of the best, aside from Troye Sivan, to make the transition into music. I do like her voice, and I like how she showcases her powerful vocals in this song. It showcases the true meaning of the song--powerful vocals to accompany the powerful journey Hanna took to the top when stuck in a toxic relationship. I am not surprised to see this one go, seeing as many have not known of this song until now, but I am just glad that there were a few rankers who had this above being red.

More bottom 10s are lost.

76. Zedd, Maren Morris, & Grey - The Middle

Average Rank: #57.57 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 17.011
Median: 63

Listed Rank: #18

34. CC
34. Scott Strong
52. Nick Perkins
63. WAMB10
65. Waffle
76. Dylan
79. Jorge

Comments: While I am not a fan of this song's overly done production and strange accompanying vocals anymore, I was at one point this year. The radio killed this one, and I don't think I could ever go back to enjoying this one. So, with that being said, I am glad to see this one already crossed off of the list.

More bottom 10s are lost.

75. Ed Sheeran - Perfect

Average Rank: #57.57 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 16.758
Median: 64

Listed Rank: #30

37. Jorge
39. Scott Strong
40. CC
64. WAMB10
73. Dylan
74. Nick Perkins
76. Waffle

Comments: I was surprised to see this one go so fast. I thought many more people liked this song. I guess they just got sick of it, after it was played on the radio every three seconds. I still like it, but I do not love it like I used to.

More bottom 10s are lost.

74. Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do

Average Rank: #56.86
Standard Deviation: 17.033
Median: 62

Listed Rank: #23

36. Scott Strong
36. Waffle
42. WAMB10
62. CC
70. Jorge
74. Dylan
78. Nick Perkins

Comments: I know many people in this community did not like this song, but I did. Maybe that was bias in Taylor Swift being one of my favorites. However, I just think this song is unique and fun, despite Taylor being capable of more vocally.

More bottom 10s are lost.

73. Gabbie Hanna - Out Loud

Average Rank: #55.71
Standard Deviation: 16.688
Median: 56

Listed Rank: #20

23. Jorge
45. CC
53. Scott Strong
56. Waffle
65. Nick Perkins
73. WAMB10
75. Dylan

Comments: This is the song that opened me up to Hanna's vocal abilities. I enjoy how powerful her vocals here when describing a tragic love story. Once again, I did not expect this song to be ranked much higher than where it is, but I am glad to see that some rankers had this above red--again.

Dylan and WAMB10 lose another bottom 10.

72. NOTD/Bea Miller - I Wanna Know

Average Rank: #55.14
Standard Deviation: 19.320
Median: 51

Listed Rank: #36

30. CC
30. Dylan
48. Scott Strong
51. WAMB10
74. Jorge
74. Waffle
79. Nick Perkins

Comments: Miller sounds delightful on this track, and I enjoy the electronic vibes from NOTD. I don't know why many do not like this one, but I find it to be one of the best produced tracks of the year--and more interestingly from a newcomer to the hit music scene.

More bottom 10 losses.

71. Alessia Cara - Growing Pains

Average Rank: #55.00
Standard Deviation: 14.948
Median: 63

Listed Rank: #57

28. Waffle
40. WAMB10
50. Jorge
63. Scott Strong
65. CC
69. Nick Perkins
70. Dylan

Comments: This single was heavily underrated. I thought that it beautifully told a story of coming of age and metamorphosis. I feel as if Alessia Cara is not credited with enough. Her music is highly underrated, and she has one of the best voices that I have ever heard.

Nobody lost a bottom 10 song here for the first time in this rankdown.

70. Sabrina Carpenter & Jonas Blue - Alien

Average Rank: #52.86
Standard Deviation: 14.157
Median: 59

Listed Rank: #51

21. WAMB10
46. CC
56. Scott Strong
59. Nick Perkins
61. Dylan
63. Waffle
64. Jorge

Comments: This song was kind of underrated in my opinion. I personally believe that this is one of Sabrina Carpenter's best tracks. Additionally, I always like how Jonas Blue brings something different to the table every time that he is on a track, and whatever he brings here pairs perfectly with Sabrina's falsetto. This whole song is just one big vibe, honestly.

69. Camila Cabello - Never Be The Same

Average Rank: #52.43
Standard Deviation: 18.070
Median: 54

Listed Rank: #1

22. WAMB10
37. Scott Strong
43. Dylan
54. Nick Perkins
66. Waffle
68. CC
77. Jorge

Comments: Many of you already know how I feel about this song. It is truthfully one of the greatest songs that I have ever heard. I understand that many of you do not like this song, seeing that you believe that Camila's vocals are "obnoxious". However, I think quite that they opposite. Her falsetto in this song is complete heaven. Likewise, I thoroughly enjoy the drums in this song and the electropop undertones that accompany it. It calls for such a beautiful song. It's all right there...and it is all so amazing.

Jorge loses another bottom 10.

68. Bryce Vine - Drew Barrymore

Average Rank: #52.29
Standard Deviation: 20.310
Median: 58

Listed Rank: #25

16. Dylan
29. WAMB10
52. CC
58. Scott Strong
67. Jorge
71. Nick Perkins
73. Waffle

Comments: I think Bryce Vine has a very unique and mysterious voice. I like how it pairs with the vibe of Drew Barrymore. This track is mysterious, yet quite nice sounding. It works very well. I thought more of you were fans of this one, but I guess not.

Nick and Waffle both lose another bottom 10.

67. Marshmello & Anne-Marie - FRIENDS

Average Rank: #51.86
Standard Deviation: 29.763
Median: 71

Listed Rank: #53

9. CC
11. WAMB10
37. Waffle
71. Dylan
77. Nick Perkins
78. Jorge
80. Scott Strong

Comments: Although I am not a fan of this song now, I cannot deny that I was at sometime this year. I liked the fire in this song, and Anne-Marie's vocals were very powerful--and I liked it. In the end, though, the radio play killed this one. It was just on way too much. If it were moderately played, then I wouldn't have grown sick of this one. But at this point, my opinion is pretty set on this one.

CC loses his first top 10 and Scott loses his bottom pick.

66. Sabrina Carpenter - Why

Average Rank: #51.00
Standard Deviation: 20.270
Median: 55

Listed Rank: #69

6. WAMB10
46. Dylan
52. Waffle
55. CC
59. Scott Strong
64. Nick Perkins
75. Jorge

Comments: This, while being like the tenth single released by Sabrina Carpenter, was the one that put her on the map. Why was the single that broke Sabrina off from her post-Disney fame--shifting into more mature subjects in her music. This is one of my favorite tracks from her. I thoroughly enjoy the pop tones in this song, and the jammed vocals provide for something unique. I like unique songs, but I was not surprised to see this one go so soon.

WAMB10 loses their first top 10. Jorge loses yet another bottom 10.

65. Dua Lipa - IDGAF

Average Rank: #50.86
Standard Deviation: 19.387
Median: 61

Listed Rank: #37

16. Nick Perkins
32. Waffle
43. Scott Strong
61. CC
65. Dylan
69. Jorge
70. WAMB10

Comments: This song is clearly very out there, but I feel as if I wouldn't have expected IDGAF from anyone else but Dua Lipa. I was surprised to see this one released as a single, considering a good chunk of it would be censored on the radio, but I did see the success come out of it. Maybe not here, but there was success from this song.

64. Ella Mai - Boo'd Up

Average Rank: #50.29
Standard Deviation: 15.754
Median: 54

Listed Rank: #49

24. Dylan
34. Nick Perkins
44. WAMB10
54. CC
62. Waffle
63. Jorge
71. Scott Strong

Comments: Yet another artist that emerged from the unknown shadows this year. Ella Mai has a really good voice, and it does show in this nostalgic and catchy tune. However, I cannot say the same for some of her other tracks like Trip...but this one is good.

63. The Chainsmokers & Drew Love - Somebody

Average Rank: #49.71 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 24.720
Median: 74

Listed Rank: #48

7. Scott Strong
25. Dylan
46. Nick Perkins
47. CC
73. Jorge
75. Waffle
75. WAMB10

Comments: This is, I believe the fourth single from The Chainsmokers's newest project. It is, without a doubt, one of the most mysterious songs that they have released. Drew Love and Andrew Taggart have a nice blend in voice. I would love to see them pair up again. In all, this is one of the better songs from their current project.

Scott loses another top 10. Jorge, Waffle, and WAMB10 each lose another bottom 10. I believe Jorge now has two bottom 10s left.

62. Halsey/Big Sean/Stefflon Don - Alone

 Average Rank: #49.71 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 16.042
Median: 60

Listed Rank: #41

25. Nick Perkins
35. Waffle
35. WAMB10
60. Jorge
63. CC
63. Dylan
67. Scott Strong

Comments: I don't have a whole lot to say about this one, except for the fact that it is a really nice collaboration. Every artist sounds great on this track. I can tell that many of you are not huge fans of this one, but this may be Halsey's best song in my opinion.

61. Bebe Rexha/Quavo - 2 Souls On Fire

Average Rank: #49.43
Standard Deviation: 19.345
Median: 49

Listed Rank: #72

9. WAMB10
42. Waffle
48. CC
49. Jorge
58. Nick Perkins
68. Dylan
72. Scott Strong

Comments: I like the twist that both Bebe Rexha and Quavo put on a love ballad with 2 Souls On Fire. They kept this one very upbeat and I thought that it was very interesting that they were able to keep the song good in that respect.

WAMB10 loses a top 10 and Scott loses another bottom 10.

60. The Chainsmokers - You Owe Me

Average Rank: #49.00
Standard Deviation: 24.518
Median: 60

Listed Rank: #73

3. Dylan
31. Nick Perkins
36. Jorge
60. Scott Strong
68. WAMB10
70. Waffle
75. CC

Comments: At this point, this song is just okay. I was hyped on it for a little while, but realized that there was really nothing to it. The production is way messier and lazier than it ever has been for The Chainsmokers. At least its out now, because I am not a fan of it anymore.

CC loses a second bottom 10, and Dylan loses his first top 10.

59. Demi Lovato - Tell Me You Love Me

Average Rank: #48.43
Standard Deviation: 16.288
Median: 52

Listed Rank: #68

24. Waffle
26. WAMB10
47. Dylan
52. Jorge
57. CC
65. Scott Strong
68. Nick Perkins

Comments: I ike this song. The production is very powerful, and it fits perfectly with Demi Lovato's vocals. The only thing I am sad about is that it had to go so soon.

58. NOTD/Tove Styrke - Been There Done That

Average Rank: #47.86 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 15.597
Median: 46

Listed Rank: #63

26. CC
33. WAMB10
41. Scott Strong
46. Jorge
50. Dylan
67. Nick Perkins
72. Waffle

Comments: This song is really catchy. It may even be better than I Wanna Know. I like Tove Styrke's voice--and it fits very well with this electropop single and its powerful production. Lyrically, this song has a very hooking meaning. Yeah, I would like to see more from Tove Styrke in the future after this. I am just sad that its already out of the game.

57. Troye Sivan - My My My!

Average Rank: #47.86 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 16.932
Median: 38

Listed Rank: #7

27. Jorge
35. Scott Strong
36. WAMB10
38. Dylan
60. Waffle
63. Nick Perkins
76. CC

Comments: I love this song! But, I guess that the rest of you do not feel quite the same. I am a huge fan of how Troye Sivan can set himself apart from the rest--and that is why I respect him so much as an artist. This song has groove and pep, and so many positive aspects, and that is why I love this one.

56. Madison Beer - Home With You

Average Rank: #47.57
Standard Deviation: 8.261
Median: 51

Listed Rank: #77

35. CC
37. WAMB10
45. Dylan
51. Nick Perkins
51. Waffle
57. Jorge
57. Scott Strong

Comments: I like the energy in this song. Madison Beer's vocals are incredibly sexual sounding and it fits the steamy vibe of this song. I guess many of you just dub this one as "okay".

55. Nicki Minaj/Ariana Grande - Bed

Average Rank: #47.14
Standard Deviation: 16.583
Median: 44

Listed Rank: #79

30. Nick Perkins
30. WAMB10
40. Waffle
44. Dylan
45. Scott Strong
61. Jorge
80. CC

Comments: I always anticipate the collaborations that Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande bring us. Their songs always come out good. While this may be the least appealing collab that these two have brought us, I still find the chorus and the verses infectiously catchy.

CC loses their bottom rank, leaving WAMB10 to be the only one with their bottom rank still remaining in the competition.

54. Julia Michaels/Trippie Redd - Jump

Average Rank: #47.00 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 17.760
Median: 47

Listed Rank: #44

22. Nick Perkins
27. Dylan
42. Scott Strong
47. WAMB10
49. Waffle
70. CC
72. Jorge

Comments: It is great that Julia Michaels has decided to branch out from her songwriting career and blossom into a pop star. Jump may be her best song in my opinion. It comes close to Issues, but this song is so catchy and I love her voice. The production is simple, but fits the song well. Likewise, Trippie Redd provided an excellent verse.

Jorge now has one bottom 10 remaining--and still has every member of his top 10 remaining in the competition. The odds seem to be in his favor.

53. Troye Sivan/Ariana Grande - Dance To This

Average Rank: #47.00 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 18.974
Median: 50

Listed Rank: #15

12. WAMB10
33. Waffle
44. Jorge
50. Scott Strong
56. Nick Perkins
57. Dylan
77. CC

Comments: These two both lose another song--in the form of their fun and energetic track Dance To This. Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande, along with their young visions and impressions, make an amazing vocal duo. This was one of my favorites of the year.

52. G-Eazy & Halsey - Him & I

Average Rank: #46.43
Standard Deviation: 30.373
Median: 67

Listed Rank: #13

7. WAMB10
12. CC
16. Jorge
67. Waffle
70. Nick Perkins
75. Scott Strong
78. Dylan

Comments: This one had a lot of spread in the rankings. Half of the competition's competitors saw this song as good, and half saw it as bad. Personally, I like this dark-tinged ballad for love. This song is just enjoyable. That's all there is to it.

51. Years & Years - If You're Over Me

Average Rank: #44.57
Standard Deviation: 23.790
Median: 49

Listed Rank: #54

2. CC
22. Dylan
37. Nick Perkins
49. Scott Strong
65. Jorge
68. Waffle
69. WAMB10

Comments: Everything is here. The energy is here. The production on this track is some of the best that I have heard this year. The vocals go without question. The lyrics, like the rest of this song are unequivocally good. Years & Years always manages to bring something new to the table--and that is exactly what they did with If You're Over Me.

50. Camila Cabello - Real Friends

Average Rank: #44.43
Standard Deviation: 22.996
Median: 51

Listed Rank: #38

15. WAMB10
16. Waffle
26. Nick Perkins
51. CC
64. Dylan
68. Scott Strong
71. Jorge

Comments: While this is certainly not my favorite song from Camila Cabello by any means, I do find the chill and laid-back vibe of this song very relaxing and enjoyable to listen to when I find myself under stress. This is about where I expected it to land on this list.

With that, Jorge is the first participant to clear their bottom 10.

49. Bebe Rexha - I'm A Mess

Average Rank: #44.29
Standard Deviation: 20.548
Median: 43

Listed Rank: #40

18. WAMB10
25. Waffle
31. CC
43. Jorge
46. Scott Strong
72. Dylan
75. Nick Perkins

Comments: This song just has a good vibe to it. The hook is catchy, the production is bearable, the vocals are superb--and it always has me in the mood. I like how Bebe Rexha is able to do this with her music.

Dylan now has one bottom 10 ranking remaining in the competition, and Nick loses another bottom 10 ranking.

48. Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It?

Average Rank: #43.14
Standard Deviation: 13.653
Median: 41

Listed Rank: #27

27. Waffle
30. Scott Strong
32. Dylan
41. Nick Perkins
48. Jorge
60. WAMB10
64. CC

Comments: This song just packs a huge punch of energy, and I love it. This was the opening song on the Reputation Tour, which I saw live at Gillette Stadium in July. It was such a well-done show, and this song was the perfect choice to start of the show. ...Ready For It? has a massive amount of high points--especially that infectious bass line.

47. Shawn Mendes - In My Blood

Average Rank: #43.00
Standard Deviation: #27.733
Median: 53

Listed Rank: #26

4. Scott Strong
4. WAMB10
33. Dylan
53. CC
62. Nick Perkins
68. Jorge
77. Waffle

Comments: I can feel the soul in this song. Shawn Mendes does a fantastic song. I can easily dub this his best song. It just has so much emotion, and that is why it is so good.

Scott and WAMB10 both lose another top 10 rank and Waffle loses another bottom 10 rank.

46. Sabrina Carpenter - Almost Love

Average Rank: #42.43
Standard Deviation: 16.167
Median: 49

Listed Rank: #33

13. CC
24. WAMB10
45. Jorge
49. Nick Perkins
50. Waffle
54. Dylan
62. Scott Strong

Comments: This is the song that truly marked teen songstress Sabrina Carpenter's departure from the teen-influenced and child fanbase maintenance that she once upheld with her music. Almost Love showcases a brilliant story of how feelings can so quickly shift into intimacy--and all the butterflies that fly in between.

45. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Want You Back

Average Rank: #41.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 21.869
Median: 51

Listed Rank: #66

3. Scott Strong
25. CC
27. Nick Perkins
51. Jorge
54. Waffle
61. WAMB10
69. Dylan

Comments: I was a fan of this song at first, but at this point I just find it to be okay. There isn't a whole lot that is going on here, but this is where I expected it to be on this list.

44. R3HAB & Sofia Carson - Rumors

Average Rank: #41.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 25.822
Median: 43

Listed Rank: #74

3. CC
18. Dylan
20. WAMB10
43. Nick Perkins
66. Jorge
69. Waffle
70. Scott Strong

Comments: This one was one of the "hidden gems" of the year. I like this one. It is simple, short, and has an extremely catchy hook. Sofia Carson a has superb vocals and the production on this track is equally as good. I was just surprised by how far it got on this list. I would have expected it to be one of the first to go, but that was untrue--obviously.

43. Demi Lovato - Sober

Average Rank: #40.86
Standard Deviation: 18.027
Median: 44

Listed Rank: #46

17. Waffle
19. Nick Perkins
28. WAMB10
44. CC
55. Jorge
61. Scott Strong
62. Dylan

Comments: This is one of the most honest and revealing tracks that I have ever heard. This is why I respect Demi Lovato so much as an artist. This shows the humanistic side of everything--saying that no one is perfect. I just hope that the glimpse we got into Demi's life proves to improve--especially after that tragic near-death experience early this summer.

42. Maroon 5/Cardi B - Girls Like You

Average Rank: #40.00
Standard Deviation: 21.554
Median: 39

Listed Rank: #5

15. Scott Strong
17. Jorge
21. Nick Perkins
39. Dylan
56. CC
58. Waffle
74. WAMB10

Comments: This song is just fun, that's all there is to it. However, I understand where people are coming from when they say the don't like it.

41. Post Malone - Better Now

Average Rank: #39.86
Standard Deviation: 20.280
Median: 33

Listed Rank: #39

15. Jorge
26. Waffle
29. Dylan
33. CC
36. Nick Perkins
64. Scott Strong
76. WAMB10

Comments: Wow! I guess this song isn't hated nearly as much as I had come to believe. I would have thought that this would have been out in the first set of ten. All set aside, though--when it comes down to it; this one is just really catchy and really fun.

40. Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman

Average Rank: #39.29
Standard Deviation: 31.052 (highest)
Median: 41

Listed Rank: #10

2. WAMB10
7. CC
9. Waffle
41. Jorge
61. Nick Perkins
76. Scott Strong
79. Dylan

Comments: While God Is A Woman was not Ariana's best song of the year, it was enjoyable nonetheless. It had all of the traditional components of an Ariana Grande single--powerful vocals, and casual sexual innuendos. Definitely an indulgence that was a little bit guilty, especially with that controversial title.

Dylan clears his bottom 10 and Waffle loses their first top 10.

39. Bazzi - Mine

Average Rank: #39.00
Standard Deviation: 23.561
Median: 34

Listed Rank: #21

13. Nick Perkins
15. CC
18. Scott Strong
34. Dylan
57. Waffle
59. Jorge
77. WAMB10

Comments: While I wasn't a huge fan of Bazzi's breakout single at first, Mine has proved itself to be an enjoyable, yet short, listen over time. I was actually pretty surprised to see it be in the upper half of this list.

This is the first song on this list to have its average rank match its rank on the list. Additionally, WAMB10 loses another bottom 10.

38. Taylor Swift - Delicate

Average Rank: #38.57
Standard Deviation: 28.957
Median: 57

Listed Rank: #6

2. Nick Perkins
4. Waffle
11. Scott Strong
57. WAMB10
58. Jorge
67. Dylan
71. CC

Comments: This song is just so soothing. I can listen to Delicate whenever I need a quick break from a little bit of insanity. It also shows us the vulnerable side of Taylor Swift, which we don't normally see in her music. So, that is also a nice component that it carries.

Nick loses his first top 10.

37. Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still

Average Rank: #38.00
Standard Deviation: 20.757
Median: 39

Listed Rank: #50

2. Dylan
22. Scott Strong
27. CC
39. Waffle
55. Nick Perkins
56. Jorge
65. WAMB10

Comments: This is one of my favorite songs to get up and dance to. There is an undeniable energy in Feel It Still that never fails to put me in a good mood. It is like that with most of Portugal. The Man's songs, but this one just has this infectious component to it.

36. Dean Lewis - Be Alright

Average Rank: #37.86
Standard Deviation: 22.529
Median: 39

Listed Rank: #70

5. Dylan
19. Scott Strong
24. CC
39. WAMB10
47. Nick Perkins
53. Jorge
78. Waffle

Comments: I was kind of surprised that this song made it this far in the process. But, I guess I didn't know how much people liked it. This is just a good song all around. The lyrics, the production, and the voice of Dean Lewis in Be Alright are all superb.

Waffle has now cleared their bottom 10 rankings. Dylan loses another top 10 ranking.

35. Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho

Average Rank: #37.57
Standard Deviation: 22.996
Median: 38

Listed Rank: #32

7. Nick Perkins
13. Dylan
29. Waffle
38. Jorge
42. CC
54. Scott Strong
80. WAMB10

Comments: I'm not as big of a fan of this one as I once was. It is kind of dull. But, at some point, I was a fan of Post Malone's vocals on this one, and Ty Dolla Sign's verses. Psycho doesn't live up to its name that sufficiently, though.

WAMB10 finally clears her bottom ranking from the competition, making her the last one to do so.

34. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes

Average Rank: #37.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 27.007
Median: 29

Listed Rank: #34

9. Scott Strong
10. Jorge
12. Dylan
29. CC
59. Waffle
67. WAMB10
76. Nick Perkins

Comments: At this point, I am no longer a fan of Whatever It Takes, mainly because Hits 1 felt the need to constantly overplay it--like they do with all of the Imagine Dragons songs that they pick up. I can see myself getting back into this one in the future, but for now, I am not the biggest fan.

Jorge loses his first top 10 ranking, becoming the last participant to tap into their top 10 rankings. This song also becomes the second song to match its rank on the originally composed list.

33. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Youngblood

Average Rank: #37.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 14.994
Median: 37

Listed Rank: #9

17. Scott Strong
18. Jorge
33. Nick Perkins
37. Dylan
47. Waffle
50. WAMB10
60. CC

Comments: This was one of my favorite songs of the year. There is a sweet-sounding edge in this song. My favorite part of Youngblood is the chorus--mostly because it is not something that we usually hear from 5 Seconds Of Summer. This is the direction that they should be trying to go with their music, and I can only hope that we hear more songs like this from them.

32. NF - Lie

Average Rank: #37.29
Standard Deviation: 17.539
Median: 35

Listed Rank: #76

17. Dylan
17. WAMB10
32. Scott Strong
35. Jorge
43. CC
45. Waffle
72. Nick Perkins

Comments: I was really surprised to see this one get so far in this competition. Nevertheless, Lie is a pretty good track. NF is not a bad rapper. Sure, he isn't the best, but I always find myself singing along to his tracks.

Nick is the fourth participant to officially clear their bottom 10 rankings.

31. Fall Out Boy - The Last Of The Real Ones

Average Rank: #36.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 23.433
Median: 44

Listed Rank: #71

4. Dylan
13. Jorge
16. CC
44. Nick Perkins
48. WAMB10
64. Waffle
66. Scott Strong

Comments: The Last Of The Real Ones is the only acceptable song off Fall Out Boy's recent album, M A N I A. There is a nice set of vocals and a nice production on this track. This is what I like to hear from Fall Out Boy, and hopefully they can recover from the garbage that they have release in this past year.

30. Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran/Future - End Game

Average Rank: #36.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 19.529
Median: 42

Listed Rank: #2

11. Waffle
12. Nick Perkins
22. Jorge
42. Dylan
51. Scott Strong
58. CC
59. WAMB10

Comments: Obviously, this was one of my favorite songs of the year. It has a nice energy, and gives Taylor a bit of a badass vibe, which is cool. Future actually sounds good on End Game, and the vocals provided by Ed Sheeran were superb--as expected.

29. P!nk - Beautiful Trauma

Average Rank: #36.29
Standard Deviation: 18.721
Median: 26

Listed Rank: #47

14. Scott Strong
23. Waffle
25. Jorge
26. Dylan
38. Nick Perkins
62. WAMB10
66. CC

Comments: This is a good song, and it was pretty underrated, which was kind of sad. It is just as good, if not better, than most of the songs that we have heard from P!nk in previous years. However, I am glad that it was pretty successful in this rankdown, which means many of you liked it as well.

28. Liam Payne & Rita Ora - For You

Average Rank: #35.43
Standard Deviation: 19.152
Median: 32

Listed Rank: #65

18. Waffle
19. Dyaln
21. Scott Strong
32. Jorge
32. Nick Perkins
52. WAMB10
74. CC

Comments: This song is one that I was really in love with towards the beginning of last year. For You truly feels like a song that should have been on Fifty Shades of Grey. It is definitely superior over the films' other lead singles off of other albums in terms of context. Liam Payne and Rita Ora both provide nice vocal backup on the track as well.

CC loses another bottom 10 pick.

27. Clean Bandit/Julia Michaels - I Miss You

Average Rank: #35.29
Standard Deviation: 20.755
Median: 24

Listed Rank: #28

14. WAMB10

21. Waffle
23. Nick Perkins
24. Scott Strong
31. Dylan
62. Jorge
72. CC

Comments: I Miss You showcases good vocals from Julia Michaels, in my opinion. Clean Bandit doesn't have a major role here, which is kind of annoying. But, we have a nice vocal aspect on this track, so I am pretty okay with it.

26. The Struts/Kesha - Body Talks

Average Rank: #34.86
Standard Deviation: 22.022
Median: 29

Listed Rank: #62

6. Dylan
20. CC
21. Jorge
29. Nick Perkins
38. WAMB10
53. Waffle
77. Scott Strong

Comments: Going into this song, I thought it was kind of weird that Kesha was pairing up with The Struts. However, I love every component of this song. It is groovy, it is fun, and there are nice complements of both artists.

Dylan loses another top 10 pick, and Scott loses another bottom 10 pick.

25. Kendrick Lamar & SZA - All The Stars

Average Rank: #34.43
Standard Deviation: 29.110
Median: 23

Listed Rank: #52

5. Jorge
5. Waffle
11. Nick Perkins
23. Dylan
46. WAMB10
73. Scott Strong
78. CC

Comments: This is one of the best produced songs of 2018. Not to mention, one of my favorite music videos of 2018, given all of the stunning visuals. Kendrick Lamar sounds great on All The Stars, and SZA performs very nicely.

Jorge and Waffle both lose a member of their top 5. Meanwhile, Scott and CC both lose another bottom 10. A lot of extremes are lost here.

24. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy

Average Rank: #33.57
Standard Deviation: 16.783
Median: 27

Listed Rank: #55

7. Dylan
20. Jorge
27. Scott Strong
27. WAMB10
48. Waffle
49. CC
57. Nick Perkins

Comments: I was really surprised to see that Sick Boy made it this far on this list. I had thought that many were not a huge fan of this song. For me, this is one of the better singles that The Chainsmokers have released in the past year.

Dylan loses another top 10 ranking.

23. Foster The People - Sit Next To Me

Average Rank: #33.14
Standard Deviation: 22.331
Median: 38

Listed Rank: #78

1. Dylan
5. Scott Strong
28. Nick Perkins
38. Waffle
42. Jorge
49. WAMB10
69. CC

Comments: I like this song. Foster The People serve up a certain groove with Sit Next To Me, that never really fails to put me into a fun mood. I am glad that it has done so well all around. This band deserves more success than what they have previously received.

Dylan is the first participant to lose their #1 pick. Additionally, Scott loses another member of his top 5.

22. Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss

Average Rank: #32.57
Standard Deviation: 20.367
Median: 33

Listed Rank: #19

8. Jorge
10. Waffle
20. Nick Perkins
33. Scott Strong
36. CC
55. WAMB10
66. Dylan

Comments: This is a nice and groovy song. It is really all that we heard from Calvin Harris this year. I was hoping to hear a little more from him. But, hopefully...that will come in 2019. Dua Lipa sounds great here as well.

21. The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar - Pray For Me

Average Rank: #32.43
Standard Deviation: 25.667
Median: 24

Listed Rank: #61

1. Jorge
7. Waffle
20. Dylan
24. Nick Perkins
41. WAMB10
55. Scott Strong
79. CC

Comments: Another good song off of the Black Panther soundtrack. Pray For Me has great production and good vocals from The Weeknd. Additionally, Kendrick Lamar makes a great effort so sound good here.

Jorge and Waffle both lose a top 10 member, and Jorge becomes the second participant to lose their #1 pick. Additionally, CC clears their bottom 10.

20. LSD - Thunderclouds

Average Rank: #31.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 19.224
Median: 41

Listed Rank: #75

8. Dylan
9. Nick Perkins
12. Scott Strong
41. CC
41. Waffle
53. WAMB10
54. Jorge

Comments: I am pretty over this song at this point. It has become pretty annoying hearing Sia's vocals on this song. However, I was really surprised that it made the top 20 on this list. I did not think it was that popular with the people in this community.

19. Bazzi/Camila Cabello - Beautiful

Average Rank: #31.43 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 7.926 (lowest)
Median: 31

Listed Rank: #12

18. Nick Perkins
28. CC
28. Scott Strong
31. WAMB10
33. Jorge
36. Dylan
46. Waffle

Comments: This one had a very low level of disagreement in the rankings--the least, in fact. All set aside, I am a huge fan of Beautiful. This is Bazzi's best song, and him and Camila both sound great on this track.

18. lovelytheband - Broken

Average Rank: #31.14 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 18.962
Median: 38

Listed Rank: #42

1. Scott Strong
10. Dylan
25. WAMB10
38. CC
40. Jorge
44. Waffle
60. Nick Perkins

Comments: Broken is has pretty much faded on me at this point. I have just heard it so much that it is getting pretty old. It is still a song that I can see myself getting back into, after its overall popularity considerably diminishes.

Dylan now has one member of his top 10 left in the competition. Also, Scott has now lost his #1 pick.

17. Eminem/Ed Sheeran - River

Average Rank: #31.14 (tie)
Standard Deviation: 17.447
Median: 28

Listed Rank: #43

4. Jorge
19. CC
25. Scott Strong
28. Dylan
31. Waffle
53. Nick Perkins
58. WAMB10

Comments: I feel like I totally forgot about this song the instant it stopped getting played on mainstream radio. Despite its factor of being pretty forgettable, I like this song. Both Eminem and Ed Sheeran do a superb job here.

16. Selena Gomez & Marshmello - Wolves

Average Rank: #30.86
Standard Deviation: 14.525
Median: 31

Listed Rank: #59

11. CC
16. WAMB10
20. Waffle
31. Jorge
42. Nick Perkins
44. Scott Strong
52. Dylan

Comments: I was really surprised when I saw that Selena Gomez paired with a producer for this track. However, it was much different than I had thought it would be. Wolves was definitely less reliant on Marshmello's skills than I thought it would be. For that, I like this song very much.

15. Clean Bandit/Demi Lovato - Solo

Average Rank: #30.43
Standard Deviation: 22.238
Median: 47

Listed Rank: #67

1. CC
6. Scott Strong
8. WAMB10
47. Jorge
48. Dylan
48. Nick Perkins
55. Waffle

Comments: In my opinion, Solo is one of Clean Bandit's less-intriguing songs production-wise. However, it is still pretty good. Demi Lovato also sounds good here...not great, but good. I wouldn't have ranked it nearly this high, but this is not based on my opinions.

Several participants lose a top 10 pick here, including CC who loses their #1.

14. Cardi B, Bad Bunny, & J Balvin - I Like It

Average Rank: #30.29
Standard Deviation: 30.174
Median: 14

Listed Rank: #31

1. Nick Perkins
4. CC
11. Jorge
14. Dylan
30. Waffle
74. Scott Strong
78. WAMB10

Comments: This one surely gave into a lot of extremes being lost for over half of the participants in the competition. I would have placed this song a little further up than #30, which is around the median rank here. I Like It has been one of my guilty pleasures in the past year, given that it has been pretty much the only Cardi B song that I have been prone to liking.

Nick has now lost his #1 pick. Scott has now cleared his bottom 10.

13. Maroon 5/SZA - What Lovers Do

Average Rank: #27.14
Standard Deviation: 14.829
Median: 23

Listed Rank: #56

5. Nick Perkins
14. Jorge
21. Dylan
23. Scott Strong
34. Waffle
43. WAMB10
50. CC

Comments: I am glad that this song made it this far on this list. It is easily Maroon 5's best song within the last couple of years. I am a fan of every aspect of this song. What Lovers Do brought me back to the times of when Maroon 5 were better, and not releasing horrible tracks like Don't Wanna Know and Cold

12. The Chainsmokers/Emily Warren - Side Effects

Average Rank: #26.86
Standard Deviation: 19.730
Median: 21

Listed Rank: #14

6. Nick Perkins
12. Jorge
13. Scott Strong
21. CC
22. Waffle
56. WAMB10
58. Dylan

Comments: I am glad that this song did really good on this list. Side Effects was pretty underrated, compared to the other, more poorly executed tracks that The Chainsmokers had released this year. However, I am glad that some people feel the same way I do.

11. Selena Gomez - Back To You

Average Rank: #26.14
Standard Deviation: 17.772
Median: 29

Listed Rank: #8

4. Nick Perkins
10. WAMB10
13. Waffle
29. Scott Strong
30. Jorge
37. CC
60. Dylan

Comments: Selena Gomez does a nice job with Back To You. I love the subtle vulnerability that she brings to this song, given her powerful vocals on the track. This is the kind of track that suits Selena Gomez. She is one of those artists that needs a little bit of power to her songs, even on her most revealing tracks.

10. The Chainsmokers/Kelsea Ballerini - This Feeling

Average Rank: #26.00
Standard Deviation: 15.232
Median: 23

Listed Rank: #58

2. Scott Strong
15. Waffle
22. CC
23. WAMB10
28. Jorge
39. Nick Perkins
53. Dylan

Comments: While This Feeling is certainly nowhere near the best that we have heard from both The Chainsmokers and Kelsea Ballerini, it was still an enjoyable listen for me nevertheless. This was not a song that I was expecting to be in the top 10 on this list. But, then again, I was not expecting for most of the songs that you are about to see to be in the top 10.

Scott loses his #2 pick here, officially clearing his top 5.

9. Ariana Grande - Breathin

Average Rank: #25.14
Standard Deviation: 18.795
Median: 23

Listed Rank: #11

1. Waffle
7. Jorge
13. WAMB10
23. CC
35. Nick Perkins
38. Scott Strong
59. Dylan

Comments: Given the rather underwhelming work that we received from Ariana Grande just earlier today, in the form of her new album Thank U, Next, I am glad that there is at least some meaningful and lovely tracks from her to listen to, which include Breathin.

Waffle has now lost their #1 pick, and Jorge loses another member of his top 10. WAMB10 is now the only member to have their #1 song remaining in the competition.

8. Imagine Dragons - Natural

Average Rank: #25.00
Standard Deviation: 17.378
Median: 31

Listed Rank: #35

3. Jorge
5. CC
11. Dylan
31. Scott Strong
32. WAMB10
43. Waffle
50. Nick Perkins

Comments: I kind of like this song, Hits 1 just made me lose a ton of interest in this song due to their immense amount of overplay. They often do the same with most of Imagine Dragons's songs. But, then again, I am usually not prone to liking most of this band's music.

Jorge now has one member of his top 5 remaining in the competition and CC has one member of their top 5 remaining in the competition as well.

7. Camila Cabello - Consequences

Average Rank: #24.57
Standard Deviation: #19.711
Median: 15

Listed Rank: #22

5. WAMB10
6. CC
12. Waffle
15. Nick Perkins
26. Jorge
52. Scott Strong
56. Dylan

Comments: I really love ballads, and Camila Cabello does them to justice with this song. I love Consequences. I think that she sounds beautiful, and the song is beautifully written. It is very similar to Something's Gotta Give, another song from her that I absolutely love as well.

6. Silk City & Dua Lipa - Electricity

Average Rank: #24.29
Standard Deviation: 13.925
Median: 20

Listed Rank: #60

8. Waffle
10. Nick Perkins
18. CC
20. Scott Strong
29. Jorge
34. WAMB10
51. Dylan

Comments: This song has a lot of energy, and I like it. Dua Lipa shines on this song vocally, and both Mark Ronson and Diplo do a great job with the production on this song, as the duo Silk City. Also, if you have not heard Dua Lipa's new track, Swan Song, I highly recommend it.

5. Bruno Mars/Cardi B - Finesse

Average Rank: #23.57
Standard Deviation: 29.471
Median: 8

Listed Rank: #45

2. Jorge
3. Nick Perkins
3. Waffle
8. CC
9. Dylan
69. Scott Strong
71. WAMB10

Comments: This is a pretty good song, but Finesse is one of the more forgettable tracks given to us by Bruno Mars. He sounds good here, which is rather surprising considering his very bad consistency from his most recent album, 24K Magic. Additionally, I enjoy Cardi B's contribution here.

Jorge and Nick have now cleared their top 5 picks. Additionally, Dylan has cleared his entire top 10 and WAMB10 has finally cleared her bottom 10 picks.

4. Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry

Average Rank: #23.29

40. Nick Perkins
41. Dylan

Comments: I was surprised to see this song due so well on this list, but I am certainly glad that you guys seem to have the same affinity with No Tears Left To Cry as I do. This is certainly one of Ariana Grande's best songs. The vocal, lyrical, and production-wise content on this track is superb.

WAMB10 has now lost her #1 pick, making her the last participant in the competition to do so.

3. Khalid & Normani - Love Lies

Average Rank: #21.14
Standard Deviation: 12.552
Median: 19

Listed Rank: #4

6. Jorge
8. Scott Strong
17. Nick Perkins
19. Waffle
19. WAMB10
39. CC
40. Dylan

Comments: Both artists do a great job here. The vocals on this track are superior to most of the tracks that we have heard in the past year. Love Lies has a nice sultry vibe, and Khalid and Normani do a sufficient job in delivering this song. I am glad that this song was highly successful.

With that, Scott has now cleared his top 10.

2. Marshmello & Bastille - Happier

Average Rank: #19.86
Standard Deviation: 12.597
Median: 15

Listed Rank: #29

8. Nick Perkins
9. Jorge
14. Waffle
15. Dylan
16. Scott Strong
32. CC
45. WAMB10

Comments: I was not really that surprised to see Happier take the #2 slot on this list. I knew it was popular among many of you. However, what did surprise me was the #1 on this list.

Nick and Jorge have now both cleared their top 10 picks.

1. Camila Cabello/Young Thug - Havana

Average Rank: #18.14
Standard Deviation: 13.217
Median: 14

Listed Rank: #17

3. WAMB10
6. Waffle
10. CC
14. Nick Perkins
19. Jorge
35. Dylan
40. Scott Strong

Comments: I was thoroughly surprised to see Havana top the list. I knew that many people were fans of this song, but I did not expect it to take the #1 spot on this list. However, I am very grateful that you all like this Latin-infused Camila Cabello and Young Thug pop song as much as I do. This one is incredibly infectious, and never fails to put me into a good mood.

With that, WAMB10, Waffle, and CC all round out their top 10 picks.

And...that's a wrap! Thank you to all who participated and read this page week after week to check in on these results. I am ever so grateful that you all decided to participate, and I hope that you will all continue to read my future content. I am excited for this year, and I hope that you all are as well.

See you soon!

~ Jack :)
