New Entrants

~ We only have one new entrant this week and honestly I couldn't care less. The reason for this is because the song is great and easily makes my top 45 songs on Hits 1 this year and of course will be on the year end ultimate Hot 45 Chart special. There will be more on later reveals towards the end of this post! So, without further adieu, let me introduce Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj returning with yet another collaboration with their new single, Side To Side. First up, let me just say that this song doesn't top Bang Bang, but it's definitely a close second. Ariana's vocals are on point, like usual, in this song and Nicki's rap is very catchy and has me going along every time I hear it. Not to mention, this song has very good production. I really am hoping to see some success out of this song. It feels worthy of at least the top 5. Well, now all there's left to do is to wait and see.

Blurb To Blurb

~ I am very happy to see Closer is back on top of the countdown, not that Heathens isn't good, but Closer is better.

~ I was not expecting that jump from Major Lazer/Justin Bieber/MØ - Cold Water. I'll take it though. It's definitely better than some of the other horrendous crap that could be there right now.

~ It's a good thing that Hailee Steinfeld & Grey/Zedd - Starving is in the top 5. This song is definitely top 5 material. I hope it continues to do well.

~ Okay. Twenty One Pilots are overtaking this countdown. I have zero problems with Heathens, but with Ride still in the top 10 and Stressed Out still above #30, there is something wrong.

~ It's nice to see Kiiara - Gold making a good jump. I really am hoping that this song hits the top 10 in the near future.

~ Hopefully this is a sign that Kenny Chesney/P!nk - Setting The World On Fire is dropping. I am getting so tired of this song. It's just not a catchy song and I don't see what's so good about it, but that's my opinion.

~ OneRepublic - Kids isn't really doing much here. It's kind of annoying considering it's better than some of the other stuff that's here right now.

~ Andy Grammer - Fresh Eyes actually became slightly more bearable during this week. Don't expect it to stay that way for long, though.

~ Are you kidding me Hits 1? Why the heck are The Weeknd/Daft Punk - Starboy and Calvin Harris - My Way flopping? There is much worse that should have already flopped, but no.

~ Of course we are seeing Runaground - Chase You Down dropping on its second week here. That's pleasant, real pleasant.

~ I would like to see P!nk - Just Like Fire make its departure before I hate it.

~ I get so annoyed hearing AJR - I'm Not Famous and Lukas Graham - Mama Said. Can you leave?

Well, hey there guys! So, yesterday I went to the movies. It was raining all day yesterday, so I thought it would be a good idea. New Entrants

~ Our first entrant this week is Runaground with Chase You Down. This is a very random song to be here, but it's really catchy, that's about all I can say. I don't think I'll be remembering this long-term, but I wish it success on the countdown because it's very good at the moment.

~ Our second debut this week comes from someone no other than Sia with a guest appearance from Kendrick Lamar in the form of The Greatest. This is definitely a great follow up single to the notably successful Cheap Thrills. Sia has a great voice in this song and this is a good example of the kinds of songs that get you up and going as they are very fast paced and ready to be danced to. I didn't know if I was going to be a fan of Kendrick Lamar's verse, but things turned out differently, his verse flows very smoothly. All in all, this is a win for both Sia and Lamar, and I wish it well on the countdown.

~ Next up is Alessia Cara - Scars To Your Beautiful. This song is just absolutely amazing. Alessia's last two singles, Here and Wild Things were both good, and this one is notably good as well, but for very distinctive reasons. This is a very empowering song and sends a beautiful message. She is telling everyone that they are perfect the way they are and they don't have to change anything about them to fit the perfect standards our society looks for these days. Alessia's voice matches perfectly with the song, and I am really hoping to see some notable success out of this song because it's songs like these that people need to realize mean something wonderful.

~ Lastly this week is Maroon 5 and Don't Wanna Know. I was very convinced this was going to tie Carly Rae Jepsen's record of highest debut on here, but it didn't, so that's good. This song is very unique and something I had really never expected to hear from a band like Maroon 5. I'm liking the style of this song and the vocals are on point. I will probably get sick of this song due to radio overplay at some point, but for now I hope it does good while it is still good.

Blurbs To Your Beautiful

~ First off, let me just talk about our exits this week. I am extremely happy that Cake By The Ocean took it's well deserved departure. It's also a very good thing that Victorious left, even though I grew back into it over the course of the week. Spirits didn't deserve to leave so quickly, it should have stuck around a while longer. Lastly, let me just say how mad I am that The Little Things left after just 3 weeks here. That is freaking ridiculous. There is much worse on this countdown and this deserved to have a somewhat good tenure.

~ Oh boy, this better be the end of Meghan Trainor - No. I will not tolerate another jump back into the 30's.

~ Lukas Graham - Mama Said is deathly annoying. I can't listen to this anymore. Remind me why I even liked this in the first place.

~ It's good to see a reasonable jump back from Flume/Kai - Never Be Like You. I swear if this song were to leave this week, you would've had a very long rant blurb.

~ I really don't care how much longer Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion lasts, but it is kind of refreshing to see it have the biggest drop of the week.

~ Let's just get 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys out of here. Like now. This song sucks so bad.

~ It's actually quite ridiculous that Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out is still here, it would be pleasant to see a drop or possibly an exit in the near future.

~ Can The Weeknd/Daft Punk - Starboy move? I want this song to have success and not be a flop.

~ It's very nice to see Kiiara - Gold bounce back into the top 20.

~ I'm very annoyed that Kenny Chesney/P!nk - Setting The World On Fire had the biggest jump this week. This song is pretty much trash.

~ Bruno Mars - 24K Magic is a really good jam. I'm glad it had a nice jump this week.

~ Why the heck is Twenty One Pilots - Ride back in the top 10?

~ Why the heck is X Ambassadors - Unsteady still in the top 10?

~ Twenty One Pilots - Heathens is a reasonable choice for #1. I don't think I'll mind it staying there for a while.

New Entrants

~ First up this week is Nick Jonas returning with Bacon. This song isn't his best but it isn't his worst either. I can't really say at the moment where it lands. At first listen, this song was generally unappealing to me. Then, when it debuted on HitBound I began to grow into it. I'm not really a big fan of Ty Dolla $ign's part in the song, so I'm fine with them cutting it out. I'm not really seeing this song having success on this countdown, so, if it stays long, it will be good, but if it leaves sooner, I won't be devastated.

~ The second debut we have this week is Bruno Mars - 24K Magic. This song definitely is nowhere near Bruno Mars's best, but, for now it's somewhat acceptable. I can tolerate it at the moment, but I don't know how long that'll last. I honestly think that this song should've debuted lower than #19, but whatever. I don't really care what this song does here, but it will probably be successful.

24K Blurbs

~ I would greatly appreciate it if Lukas Graham - Mama Said were to leave soon. It has slowly come unbearable. Mama said...la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la. Yeah kids, you know when I hear this I want to scream.

~ What a drop from Flume/Kai - Never Be Like You. Let me say that I am definitely not happy about this. This song is still really good and we can't afford to have good songs like this loitering around in the bottom 5.

~ Yeah, on the somewhat note of things that are bad, let's get AJR - I'm Not Famous out of here.

~ We have worse music to be clogging up the bottom 5 than The Strumbellas - Spirits.

~ Let me just say how freaking annoyed I am to see Meghan Trainor - No still here and making a big jump. I mean, it's ridiculous. This song is nowhere near her best, yet Hits 1 can't let go of it. It would've been a lot better if this left instead of Me Too this week.

~ Okay, Taylor Swift - New Romantics has the freedom to leave at this point. If it doesn't want to, I'm totally fine with that though.

~ Why in the world is Calvin Harris - My Way dropping this much after being here for 4 weeks? This frankly makes me mad because this song is good and deserves to be higher up and not already flopping.

~ I am really happy that the stupid excuse of a song called 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys took a tumble this week. When I hear this song, I want to laugh because of how lyrically dumb it is, mixed with the awful sound of their voices.

~ We have a new best song on the countdown. The title is given to Kiiara - Gold. Now, I know most of you guys despise this song. So, let me give you my reasoning for why it has achieved this title. First off, I listened to this song a heck of a lot of times this week. Secondly, I find the part where her vocals are mixed and it sounds like gibberish to be very cool sounding and I love that it plays like that throughout the song. Lastly, this girl has a strange and mysterious voice, but it somehow manages to wow me. So, there is my reasoning. Might I add, that this song should still be in the top 20.

~ I am loving how sweet and slow Niall Horan - This Town is. Every time I hear it, I get in a relaxed mood and sing it like Niall does.

~ I am now slowly seeing what's so stupid about Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion. It's still an okay song, but it may not be like that for long.

~ I am not exactly understanding why X Ambassadors - Unsteady is in the top 10, or why it's even still here.

~ I would appreciate it if Coldplay & SeeB - Hymn For The Weekend left soon, or just left the top 10.

~ I'm not really liking that Calvin Harris/Rihanna - This Is What You Came For and Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better are hitting new peaks just now. These songs are really becoming mediocre.

~ It's good to see a song like The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer dominating right now. It's actually quite a breath of fresh air.

New Entrants

~ First off this week we have the rather annoying Andy Grammer - Fresh Eyes. Ever since this song debuted on HitBound, I haven't really enjoyed listening to it. The only song that I can really stand from this guy is Keep Your Head Up. It will probably always be his best song, but in hindsight, it's not that good. Honey, I'm Good was okay and so was Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah). So, what makes this song so bad is it's so generic and this guy's voice is frankly very mediocre. The lyrical content is rather basic, and the voice content just downgrades the song as a whole. I think it's rather safe to say that I won't ever like this song. So, I would really appreciate it if this song didn't overstay it's welcome.

~ Next up is One Direction band member Niall Horan with his first solo song, This Town. This song is pretty good at the moment. The chorus is very sweet and catchy. The middle gets a little slower, which is okay, because the rest of the song makes up for it. Overall, this is a very kind and loving song. So, I hope it stays awhile.

~ Lastly this week is The Weeknd returning with Daft Punk on a new track titled Starboy. This song is hella catchy and so dark and mysterious. Nothing will ever top The Hills, but in the meantime, this will make up for its absence. His voice is really mysterious and the beat is so electronically vague. So, all in all, let's hope it stays for a good time.

Fresh Blurbs

~ At this point, I'm pretty freaking annoyed that Lukas Graham - 7 Years and Meghan Trainor - No are still here.

~ Panic! At The Disco - Victorious is easily fading out of my mind. I really would like it if it didn't last a year, I wish it would be something I wouldn't remember in a year.

~ Taylor Swift - New Romantics and Fifth Harmony - Work From Home are two examples of songs that I will probably never get sick of.

~ Kenny Chesney's voice frankly stinks. The only halfway decent thing about this song is the beat. Not even P!nk can save this song. Setting The World On Fire is easily oversaturated and I'm glad it's losing steam.

~ I would really appreciate it if Meghan Trainor - Me Too left. Like now.

~ DJ Snake/Justin Bieber - Let Me Love You is looking at a highly unsuccessful countdown run right now.

~ Kiarra - Gold like legit gives me life.

~ Coldplay & SeeB - Hymn For The Weekend is kind of old at this point.

~ X Ambassadors - Unsteady should be long gone at this point. How ironic.

~ Hailee Steinfeld & Grey/Zedd Starving has been here for four weeks and it is already in the top 10.

~ I'm really happy that The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer is dominating right now. It's a great song.

Let's Do A Top 20 Review!

The Chainsmokers (1) - Week Of October 1, 2016

150000_hk_Website_Transparent_Chainsmokers_NEW.png (780×498)
Hey guys! So, last night I didn't go to my first homecoming dance. Only one of my friends was going, but he had a date, so he would be with her most of the time and I'm not really a social butterfly in other words. The rest of my friends just stayed home, so I figured it wouldn't be too much fun. So, instead I stayed home and rented a movie. I'm not thrilled that I missed it, but the movie was pretty good, so I don't care, even though I probably missed out on a lot of fun, but I'll try to rope my friends into going next year. New Entrants

~ First up this week is Gnash/Olivia O'Brien - I Hate U, I Love U. Let's just say that I can relate to this song so much right now. They turned this true feeling into a song and I think that's amazing. Gnash is an amazing rapper and Olivia O'Brien is an amazing singer. Amazing+Amazing=Amazing, well I can't lie when I say that this is an amazing song. I really would like to see this song do good on the countdown.

~ Our second debut this week is from Big Gigantic and Angela McCluskey in the form of The Little Things. I looked it up and was shocked to see this woman was 53 years old. I had no idea. She still has some killer vocals for that age. Anyway, I have lost a bit of interest in this song, but nevertheless, it's still pretty good. I don't particularly expect this song to do good here or bad here.

The Little Blurbs

~ I'm still finding it surreal that Panic! At The Disco - Victorious is here. At least it got bearable over the we week.

~ Well, it looks like Lukas Graham - Mama Said is coming to an end.

~ I'm liking to see The 1975 - The Sound and AJR - I'm Not Famous in the bottom half of the countdown, let's just get rid them and some other crap down here.

~ I honestly have no care in the world that Kenny Chesney/P!nk - Setting The World On Fire is dropping. The same thing with Jacob Whitesides - Lovesick.

~ Well, it's unfortunate that DJ Snake/Justin Bieber - Let Me Love You is already dropping.

~ I'm in love with Kiiara - Gold. So. Freaking. Catchy.

~ I'm so glad that Calvin Harris - My Way had the biggest jump this week. This song is really catchy.

~ I would like it Major Lazer/Justin Bieber/MO - Cold Water was in the top 10, it's worthy of it.

~ I am liking that Flume/Kai - Never Be Like You jumped up this high.

~ Ouch. The Chainsmokers/Daya - Don't Let Me Down took a hard drop from #1.

~ Well, at least The Chainsmokers replaced themselves at #1 with Closer featuring Halsey.

2019 Year-End Post #4: My Top 45 Songs of 2019

2019, similar to years past, has been a pretty average year for music. There was a lot of bad, but there was also a lot of good. This year ...
