Blurb Me Now

~ My only dilemma with Hailee Steinfeld & Grey/Zedd - Starving being at #1 is that I find it difficult to find pictures of Hailee Steinfeld & Grey together. I have this thing where the picture has to be of all of the lead artists who claim the spot. Well, anyways, its time there is good so far.

~ I am really enjoying the jump back into the top 10 from Sia/Kendrick Lamar - The Greatest. I just started liking this song a little more just about a week ago, so I'm glad to see it made a nice comeback. It just has a great party vibe and that's perfect when we're just about to ring in the new year.

~ I really see Bruno Mars - 24K Magic not being in the color green here again. I just don't believe I will get back into the song. I believe I can say with confidence that it has officially crossed out of the green zone. There is just too much going on in the song, which overwhelms me and didn't allow me to stick with it as long as I had expected.

~ I really would appreciate it (for the five millionth time now) if X Ambassadors - Unsteady could just decline and not jump anymore. Next week, let's hope for a drop. A small drop out of the top 20 would please me enough.

~ We got a good re-entry into the top 20 this week, as Fifth Harmony/Camila Cabello - That's My Girl miraculously made its way back up. This song is still quite catchy, and the girls vocals really are interesting, while still good in this song, so hopefully I will enjoy it a while longer.

~ I am loving seeing that Charli XCX - After The Afterparty has inched closer to the top 20. This song is just so great, and I really don't know how to tell you why.

~ It was time for Ariana Grande - Into You to take a bit of a dip down the countdown. Hopefully it will stick around for a while, but it's okay for the time being.

~ When I heard DJ Snake/Justin Bieber - Let Me Love You had the biggest jump this week, I was very excited that it quickly recovered from that drown in the numbers last week. What also made me excited was that the previous song, Train - Play That Song had the biggest drop of the week. This song is just a space filler and the quicker the drop, the better.

~ I really do hope that John Legend - Love Me Now does not flop here. This song is just so sweet and has an amazing message. John Legend has a really good way of relaying messages through his music.

~ It was interesting to see the small drop from Bastille - Good Grief, but it's refreshing to see it didn't have much success thus far.

~ I wish Gnash/Olivia O'Brien - I Hate U, I Love U would have done better here. Maybe the new year will bring a good thing and give this song another chance at countdown success.

~ Well, Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty took a tumble quick over the course of these past few weeks. I'm not complaining, though.

~ I really don't care that I still like Calvin Harris - My Way, I feel that it is quite annoying that this song and 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys keep alternating between the bottom two spots, so I wish they would just depart.

Just Blurb On

~ I am very okay with Hailee Steinfeld & Grey/Zedd - Starving being our #1 song again this week. I have even started to enjoy this song a bit more, which is a good sign.

~ Although I do like Niall Horan - This Town, Alessia Cara - Scars To Your Beautiful, and Maroon 5 - Don't Wanna Know, I feel like they are just too high up here, as there are better songs that could be this high up, and are popular in other places as well.

~ I really am hoping to see Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side To Side and Adele - Water Under The Bridge jump into the top 10 in the near future, considering they are two of the several of my favorite songs at the moment.

~ This may be the last week that Bruno Mars - 24K Magic will be in green. This song is slowly degrading its honors after each and every listen. There isn't much to it to make me stay with it awhile longer.

~ I am literally getting sick of X Ambassadors - Unsteady being in the upper half of the countdown. This song really needs to leave soon. Maybe it will for the new year, but I highly doubt it. Who in the name of God is still voting for this song?

~ I really am enjoying this small drop from Pitbull/Flo Rida/LunchMoney Lewis - Greenlight. Hopefully this is the first of several drops.

~ Fifth Harmony/Camila Cabello - That's My Girl, yes that's it. This is really the true fate now and how I have to list their names. Well, I don't want to hear any complaints because I did the same thing when Zayn Malik left One Direction. When an artist leaves a group, they really are just considered a featured artist. For the song, I hope it makes a leap in the future, because it is truly doing nothing here.

~ It really seems strange that Charli XCX - After The Afterparty and John Legend - Love Me Now are moving in a pair.

~ I really would have expected a song like Steve Aoki & Louis Tomlinson - Just Hold On to jump more, but I guess it still got the title of biggest jump this week.

~ I really would love to see Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! leave. I don't want to hate this song, with all its glitter and sparkles, even more than I already do.

~ I really am not happy that DJ Snake/Justin Bieber - Let Me Love You has had the biggest drop this week. That is seriously not okay and I don't understand it at all.

~ I am literally so mad that 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys is still here. I swear if it doesn't leave before 2017, I will literally die, because this song is murder to my ears.

~ If Calvin Harris - My Way just keeps jumping all over the place, I will really just be annoyed, so I'd rather it just leave at this point.

Twenty One Pilots - Year Of 2016

twenty-one-pilots-feature.jpg (720×480)
Well, just like may music platforms this time of year, Hits 1 has released their station's top 45 songs of 2016. The list this year wasn't bad, but there were some issues this year. All in all, I would say 2016 had a lot going on on Hits 1 and I was very excited to see how this list would turn out. So, now, without further adieu, 2016's top 45 songs on Hits 1!

Last Year's #1 Song: Walk The Moon - Shut Up & Dance

45. Shawn Mendes - Stitches (#1)
44. Coldplay/SeeB - Hymn For The Weekend (#4)
43. The Chainsmokers/ROZES - Roses (#7)
42. Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - I Know What You Did Last Summer (#9)
41. Selena Gomez - Same Old Love (#3)
40. Ariana Grande - Into You (#5)
39. Justin Bieber - Love Yourself (#5)
38. James Bay - Let It Go (#5)
37. Taylor Swift - Out Of The Woods (#7)
36. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys (#10)
35. Troye Sivan - Youth (#4)
34. Charlie Puth - One Call Away (#1)
33. Demi Lovato - Confident (#1)
32. Rachel Platten - Stand By You (#2)
31. The Weeknd - In The Night (#5)
30. One Direction - Drag Me Down (#2)
29. Adele - Send My Love (To Your New Lover) (#1)
28. One Direction - History (#2)
27. Meghan Trainor - No (#3)
26. X Ambassadors - Unsteady (#6)
25. The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer (#1)
24. Lukas Graham - 7 Years (#5)
23. Justin Bieber - Sorry (#2)
22. Fifth Harmony/Camila Cabello - Work From Home (#5)
21. Twenty One Pilots - Heathens (#1)
20. P!nk - Just Like Fire (#2)
19. Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself (#3)
18. Calvin Harris/Rihanna - This Is What You Came For (#4)
17. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato - Irresistible (#3)
16. Zayn - Pillowtalk (#2)
15. Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman (#5)
14. Mike Posner/SeeB - I Took A Pill In Ibiza (#1)
13. Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better (#1)
12. Adele - Hello (#1)
11. Taylor Swift - New Romantics (#1)
10. Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty (#2)

8. Sia/Sean Paul - Cheap Thrills (#2)
7. The Chainsmokers/Daya - Don't Let Me Down (#1)
6. One Direction - Perfect (#1)
5. Twenty One Pilots - Ride (#2)
4. Flo Rida - My House (#1)
3. Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! (#1)
2. DNCE - Cake By The Ocean (#1)
1. Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out (#1)

Stressed Blurbs

~ I really did expect Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! as #1, but I can see why Hits 1 would pick Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out, and it wasn't a terrible choice, although I would've preferred #2.

~ I really don't understand the reasons as to how high One Direction - Perfect and Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty are.

~ I really didn't expect Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman to be this high, but I'll take it, of course.

~ I would have preferred to see Calvin Harris/Rihanna - This Is What You Came For to be lower and for Fifth Harmony/Camila Cabello - Work From Home to be higher, but, oh well.

~ I had no expectation for One Direction - History to even be here, but it's okay, I guess.

~ I really don't think it was necessary to have One Direction - Drag Me Down this high up, or even here at all for a second year.

~ Of course, of course, of course. The lowest peaking song on here (5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys) just has to be here, and it just has to be this ridiculous song in particular. I mean, there were better lower peaking songs, and this has to be it? I mean, this wasn't that successful here, its such a space filler, but with the obsession this station has with this band, I'm not freaking surprised.

~ I am very happy with the fact that Selena Gomez - Same Old Love is here.

~ Wow. I really didn't expect Shawn Mendes - Stitches to still be here for another year.

#1 Recommendation For Hits 1: The Weeknd/Daft Punk - I Feel It Coming

#1 Recommendation For You: Steve Aoki/Louis Tomlinson - Just Hold On

New Entrants

~ First off this week, Steve Aoki and Louis Tomlinson debut with Just Hold On. This song is good for the time being. I would say that the EDM work is good, but it's really just average. This definitely doesn't qualify as Steve Aoki's best work, but it is definitely something. I can definitely say that Louis Tomlinson does a well job on this song, but I don't know how long this will stay with me. It'll be good for a while and I hope it does good here while I like it.

~ Our second, and last debut this week is from Zayn and none other than miss Taylor Swift. I Don't Wanna Live Forever is a fabulous creation for the upcoming sequel to Fifty Shades Of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker. I am totally loving Zayn's falsetto in this song and Taylor Swift does great as always. I never really thought of these two as collaborators, but now that it's a reality, I am really enjoying the song. I really would love to see this song have success on this countdown, and I'm sure it will here, because this station sure loves these two artists.

I Don't Wanna Blurb Forever

~ I really am happy that Hailee Steinfeld & Grey/Zedd - Starving is our new #1 song. This didn't seem like a song that would hit the top spot at first, but it is very interesting and I hope it has a good run there. If this is its only week there, then let it bask in all the glory.

~ I really don't think it is necessary for Niall Horan - This Town, Alessia Cara - Scars To Your Beautiful, or Maroon 5 - Don't Wanna Know to go past their positions at the moment, but who knows?

~ I am really starting to understand how the dark ages lead us into the good times. I mean, Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better declined nine spots from #1 and Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side To Side and Adele - Water Under The Bridge both jumped ten spots. Things should hopefully begin to look up here.

~ I would really love it if songs like OneRepublic - Kids and X Ambassadors - Unsteady would leave the top 20.

~ It was sadly time for Ariana Grande - Into You to drop.

~ Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty made a notable decline this week, which is very good considering it allowed a place a better song took in the top 20.

~ I would've loved to see John Legend - Love Me Now and Charli XCX - After The Afterparty make larger jumps this week. Maybe that will happen next week, but for the time being, they are amazing songs, and at least they made somewhat of an incline.

~ Well, I am very joyful that Andy Grammer - Fresh Eyes made a drop to the lower end of the countdown. Hopefully this means that it will be leaving in the next few weeks.

~ DNCE - Body Moves clearly hasn't done well here. I would hope to see it have a comeback, but it looks like it will be just like Calvin Harris - My Way, which is still here and in the bottom 5.

~ I really hope that this is the last week that we have 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys here. This song should've left a long time ago.
