Adele (1) - Week Of August 27, 2016

_86968191_adele_ap.jpg (660×371)
Hey guys! So, this week was really kind of boring. I at least like to have one exit per week, but zero exit weeks just tend to be boring. Also, Adele being at #1 with Send My Love (To Your New Lover) doesn't help much either. So, before the fresh 45 songs this week...oh wait! There's no exits.

Setting The Blurbs On Fire

~ You see it right guys! Kent Jones - Don't Mind is officially the worst song on this countdown. I finally see how lyrically stupid this song is and I don't know how I didn't realize it in the first place.

~ I suddenly had a change in heart about DNCE - Cake By The Ocean. It suddenly interests me again. I've heard it a few times this week and have grown to like it again. It won't last long though.

~ Lukas Graham - 7 Years is still annoying me vocally, but not as much as Kent Jones's song's stupidity.

~ The Summer Set - Figure Me Out's mediocrity quickly turned into boring blandness. So, yeah. It's not really anything good.

~ I'm failing the test to get sick of Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself. It's just simply not going to happen anytime soon.

~ Let's hope Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman sticks in for a little while longer.

~ I'm actually kind of getting sick of P!nk - Just Like Fire. I wouldn't mind if it left soon, even though it's still good.

~ What the heck is this madness? Fifth Harmony - All In My Head (Flex) should not be dropping on it's third week.

~ Drake/Wizkid/Kyla - One Dance is becoming uninteresting. I hope it doesn't peak higher.

~ The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer deserved a larger jump. But, oh well.

~ It's interesting that The 1975 - The Sound is in the top 10, but I don't really care because it's kind of catchy.

~ You don't know how happy I am to see Ariana Grande - Into You in the top 10. I hope it can hit #1, but it's doubtful.

~ I'm pretty much losing hope in Sia/Sean Paul - Cheap Thrills hitting #1 at this point.

~ I'm not annoyed that Adele - Send My Love (To Your New Lover), I'm just not thrilled about it either. There could be better at #1, but it's fine for now.

2015-04-28-1430212221-235148-justintimberlakepictures1.jpg (2197×1463)
Well, hey there everyone! Yes, Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! is still holding at that #1 spot. On a good note, I got my exit predictions correct. So, that's something good, but they're all not bad. So, I wouldn't have cared if they stayed a little longer. If I may add, this was a somewhat strange week.

New Entrants

~ Our first debut of the week is Kenny Chesney and P!nk coming at us with their new country-pop tune, Setting The World On Fire. This song was completely uninteresting to me at first listen, then it was okay, and now it's good. This song definitely is something different. We've had another country-pop collaboration earlier this year that wasn't very successful. That was Brad Paisley/Demi Lovato - Without A Fight. So, I would like to say I don't really like the former or the ladder more than one another. Anyways, on with the song. I'm not normally a Kenny Chesney fan, but is voice is better than it is on most songs on this track right here. P!nk, as always never fails to impress, so she did good on this track. All in all, this song could easily change from okay to bad again and then go from okay to good again. It's just one of those songs that I have mixed feelings about. I honestly wouldn't be devastated if it left early.

~ The second debut of the week is The Chainsmokers and Halsey with Closer. First, I'm jut going to say that The Chainsmokers have been killing it this year. First with Roses featuring ROZES, then Don't Let Me Down featuring Daya, then Inside Out featuring Charlee, and now this one. This song may be their best yet. I mean, it helps a ton that they put Halsey in this song. Her voice fits well and the lyrical content is extremely relatable to someone figuring out their life and finding bumps along the way. One more thing to add, Andrew Taggart has a great voice! He should sing in their songs more often. This element also helps to make me think that this is possibly their best single. I hope this song has some deserved success on this countdown because it is definitely one of my favorite songs this summer, let alone this year.

~ The final debut this week is Coldplay/SeeB - Hymn For The Weekend. This song is pretty good even though the original is more appealing. I really loved it back in early 2016, then I grew out of it. Now, I love it again. All in all, it was worthy for the highest debut of the week and I hope it has some success on this countdown.

Blurbs For The Weekend

~ It's good that a mediocre song dropped down this week. Oh wait! There were three of them! It's a good thing that Symon - Say, Timeflies - Once In A While, and definitely The Summer Set - Figure Me Out, dropped this week. Hopefully we can get rid of the latter soon.

~ It's nice to see Fifth Harmony - Work From Home hanging in there.

~ I didn't expect Panic! At The Disco - Victorious to last this long. It's old but it's still here.

~ It's kind of driving me crazy that Meghan Trainor - No is jumping and dropping all over the place.

~ No! This can't be the end of Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman. It's too good.

~ It's saddening that P!nk - Just Like Fire had to drop so far out of the top 10.

~ Something good has happened! Twenty One Pilots - Heathens and Fifth Harmony - All In My Head (Flex) have both jumped into the top 20.

~ Okay. So, I've noticed that Hits 1 plays Demi Lovato - Body Say like this, "dreamland take me there because I want your best" instead of "dreamland take me there because I want your sex". I mean, the song is sexy, so why bleep out the word "sex"? I don't know. Hits 1 does that sometimes.

~ It just makes perfect sense to have Ariana Grande - Into You jump!

~ It's definitely a good thing that Sia/Sean Paul - Cheap Thrills is making a comeback.

~ Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! is hogging the #1 title. While I still like the song, this is extremely annoying.

Weekend Countdown Predictions (August 20, 2016)

Hey fam! So, as I do each fall, I'm playing on my school soccer team. This year, I was supposed to be on junior varsity but there wasn't enough players so now I'm on varsity. I'm not particularly happy about it, and I may quit because it's a lot of pressure going into 9th grade and playing juniors and seniors, who are at a different level. So, enough about my issues, I'm going to predict this weekend's countdown to have some fun with you guys!

#1 Recommendation For You: JoJo/Wiz Khalifa - F*ck Apologies

New Entrants

~ First off, we have Fifth Harmony, with the ghost of Fetty Wap. The song is All In My Head (Flex). I'm frankly annoyed that Fetty Wap was cut out of the song. Why you gotta kill the vibes Hits 1? Just kidding, it's all good. Now, about the song. This song is actually quite catchy and it's like the daugter of Work From Home, basically. Same meaning, same girls, and of course, guest r&b/hip hop artists. The vocals are great, and in particular, Ally Brooke Hernandez and Lauren Jauregui's vocals are the best. The chorus has a very catchy vibe, but the pre-chorus is what really catches the attention, it has the perfect build up. The other ladies of Fifth Harmony also do exceptionally well, like usual in this song. I'm hoping to see success out of this song because it's very worthy of it.

~ Our second and final debut of the week is Twenty One Pilots - Heathens. This song truly has the dark feel to it. Tyler Joseph's vocals are very mysterious which caters to the ominous vibes the song sends. I have to admit, at first this song was nothing special to me, but after repeated listens, it really grew on me. Now, it's one of my favorite songs at the moment. Overall, I think that Twenty One Pilots did a good job and it's a pretty good song, nearing their best work, even though it's not quite their best.

All In My Head (Blurbs)

~ I'm really over Grace - You Don't Own Me and it's irritating mediocrity.

~ I'm not really sad that OneRepublic - Wherever I Go dropped, but I'm not really happy either.

~ I'm not phased that Kent Jones - Don't Mind dropped it's fading on me anyway.

~ Lukas Graham - 7 Years succeeds to annoy me every time I listen to it.

~ I'm not particularly happy with Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself jumping.

~ I'm particularly happy Taylor Swift - New Romantics jumping.

~ It's rather annoying that we have so much mediocrity on this countdown. Songs like AJR - I'm Not Famous, All Time Low - Missing You, Symon - Say, The 1975 - The Sound, and Timeflies - Once In A While need to drop. It's interesting that they're here, but we don't need a flood of these songs.

~ It's good that Sia/Sean Paul - Cheap Thrills continues to hold when it had potential to hit #1...not.

~ Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty isn't anything special at all. Hits 1 needs to realize that this isn't top 5 worthy.

~ I'm so over The Chainsmokers/Daya - Don't Let Me Down. It needs to not hit #1.

~ It's getting annoying that Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! is hogging the #1 spot. It's probably going to hold for 4 more weeks though, so it can hit 12 weeks, tying the record many songs share.

Entrants

~ AJR - I'm Not Famous is good for what it is but isn't better than I'm Ready. It's generic, but I still find the vocal content interesting. So, with it's decency I hope it stays around for a little bit.

~ Now we're getting better, Hits 1! I am overjoyed that Ariana Grande - Into You has debuted on the countdown! This song is easily one of my favorite songs of 2016. Ariana's vocal range is so amazing and it truly shines in this song. This song has good lyrical content and Ariana's voice makes it sound surreal. This is definitely a win for her and I hope it has worthy success on the countdown.

Into Blurbs

~ How the heck is G-Eazy/Bebe Rexha - Me, Myself, & I still here? It's been on the lower half of the countdown for months.

~ Nick Jonas/Tove Lo - Close was in the top 10 two weeks ago and now it's in the bottom 5. Ouch.

~ Taylor Swift - New Romantics was in the top 10 two weeks ago and now it's in the bottom half of the countdown. Again, ouch.

~ Fifth Harmony - Work From Home isn't departing on me anytime soon. It's still one of my main jams.

~ It's kind of annoying that OneRepublic - Wherever I Go hasn't done much on this countdown. It feels like it was a flop.

~ Jordan Fisher - All About Us, Jacob Whitesides - Lovesick, and Demi Lovato - Body Say all had the biggest jumps when they were all debuts last week. That's interesting.

~ The 1975 - The Sound has entered the top 20. Honestly, it's annoying because we don't need any more "okay music" in the top 20

~ Drake/Wizkid/Kyla - One Dance seems to be taking the Alessia Cara - Wild Things path. Just saying, it looks eerily similar.

~ Meghan Trainor - Me Too is becoming a very, very, very tiny bit more worse after each listen.

~ Calvin Harris/Rihanna - This Is What You Came For is becoming a very, very, very, tiny bit more better after each listen.

~ It's rather annoying that Sia/Sean Paul - Cheap Thrills didn't get to the peak of the countdown. Now it's dropping slowly, but surely.

~ Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman is jumping higher and higher. A little late, but I'm okay with it.

~ If Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty reaches the top of the countdown it'll be annoying because it's nothing special.

~ Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! will probably be at the top for twelve weeks like other songs.
