A Year End Special - 2015: At A Glance

Hey guys and welcome back to this blog. We have recently hit 12,000 which is awesome. Now, on with this post. 2015 has been a great year for music just like many others, but the monster called radio has killed many good songs this year which is saddening. Anyways, on with this quick review at a year of music on Hits 1. Let's get started with the bottom 5 songs of the year with number one being the worst.

Bottom 5 Songs Of 2015:
1. Imagine Dragons - I Bet My Life
2. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Downtown
3. Usher - I Don't Mind
4. Fall Out Boy - Uma Thurman
5. Omi - Cheerleader

As for all of our #1 songs, most of them have previously been good or are still good in my opinion. Anyways, here are the #1 songs on The Sirius XM Hits 1 Weekend Countdown in 2015 starting with the highest number of times at #1.

  • Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance (12)
  • Adele - Hello (7)
  • Taylor Swift - Blank Space (5) (6 total)
  • Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk (4)
  • Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth - See You Again (4)
  • Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud (3)
  • Shawn Mendes - Stitches (3)
  • Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do (2)
  • Fall Out Boy - Centuries (2)
  • Maroon 5 - Sugar (2)
  • Taylor Swift - Bad Blood (2)
  • Andy Grammer - Honey I'm Good (1)
  • Ed Sheeran - Photograph (1)
  • One Direction - Drag Me Down (1)
  • Taylor Swift - Style (1)
  • Taylor Swift - Wildest Dreams (1)
  • The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face (1)
Something to do with the breakout artists now. There were many good ones and bad ones. I am going to just say who my favorite breakout artist of 2015 was and my least favorite breakout artist of 2015 was just like Adrian did on his post, but I am going to use two artists for each category.

Best Breakout Artist Of 2015: The Weeknd and Hailee Steinfeld

Worst Breakout Artist Of 2015: Fetty Wap and Future

Now, there were many songs from HitBound this year that did not make the countdown, so here they are, color coded in green, blue, and red, like from the countdown color code.

I guess I am still fairly new to the blogging community, so I am going to go with the Lights Over Paris Award that the rest of the bloggers do for the song that they think should have definitely made it to the countdown but didn't.

2015 Lights Over Paris Award: Sia - Elastic Heart

Yet again, here is another award that the other bloggers do called the Biggest Whiff Award, which is the song that was popular everywhere else but never made it to Hits 1.

2015 Biggest Whiff Award: Skrillex & Diplo/Justin Bieber - Where Are U Now

Now, last but not least, the longest and shortest tenures of 2015.

Shortest Tenure: David Guetta/Sam Martin - Dangerous (2 weeks)

Longest Tenure: Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud (52 weeks and counting)

That about wraps it up guys. Stay tuned for more end of the year posts.

Love ya fam!

~ Jack :)
