Ed Sheeran (9) - Week Of April 8, 2017

ed.jpg (647×340)
This week wasn't exactly the most normal week we've ever had. I mean, it started off with a few big drops and carried on as usual, but then when we got into the twenties, we started to have several drops out of the upper end of the countdown. When we finally got to the top 10, things had changed quite a bit, seeing as most of the songs from last week had taken a tumble. New Entrants

~ Our first entrant this week comes from former countdown alum, MAX featuring another former countdown alum, Gnash. They teamed up for the track, Lights Down Low. For a while, I really wasn't all that attracted to this song. After repeated listens, it didn't seem to get all that better, and up until a couple of weeks ago, that was my opinion. Last weekend, when I listened to it on HitBound, I was just instantly just in love. So, now it is legitimately one of the best songs on the countdown. I hope it does well here, and I'm not sure that will entirely happen based on Hits 1 standards.

~ The next entrance into the countdown this week is Snakehips/MØ - Don't Leave. From the very start, this song has been amazing. The production on this song is very much a step up from this duo's past songs. contributes amazing vocals without flaw to this song, and I know most of you will disagree with me, but I don't care. The chorus is where I get the most emotional feeling, just because it's very personal and quite emotional. I really hope this song stays a while, and has success in the process.

~ The final admittance into the countdown this week is from returning artist The Vamps featuring Matoma. This song has been good from the start. I believe Matoma did a very nice job on the production for this song, and although the vocals from these guys aren't as good as they were in their previous work, they are still very much tolerable throughout the song. I hope to see this one do well here. I'm glad we had a very nice week of debuts.
