imagegen.ashx (796×420)

#1 Recommendation For You: The Veronicas - On Your Side

New Entrants

~ Our only new entrant this week is Train - Play That Song. This song really was only good for about two weeks. Then, I started to get sick of it, and I didn't even listen to it that much. All in all, I would say that it's a space filler at the moment, but it could change to being a good song again. So, I would pretty much like it if it didn't stay long or do good whatsoever because it will probably be in red before you know it.

Blurb That Song

~ Well, at least something decent has happened. Bruno Mars - 24K Magic is at #6.

~ Okay, someone pinch me, I'm in a freaking nightmare. Andy Grammer - Fresh Eyes is at #7. This is terrible. I swear, this could be the worst week we've had all year.

Panic! At The Disco - Death Of A Bachelor in the top 10 and having the biggest jump of the week is a big no no. I would love if this song just stayed where it was.

~ Okay, I guess Bastille - Good Grief is getting better in my eyes, but that might not last long.

~ At least two good things came out of this week. Jon Bellion - All Time Low and The Weeknd/Daft Punk - Starboy both jumps, with jumps they deserve.

~ I would love it if X Ambassadors - Unsteady stopped jumping and dropping and just freaking left already! I swear, every week this song spends on this countdown doing this I get progressively angrier.

~ I had to make a separate blurb for the drop of Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side To Side because this is freaking ridiculous. This is the #4 song in America right now and she just won Artist Of The Year and she gets this treatment? I mean, this is probably the catchiest song on Pop Radio right now. This is seriously making me mad. I really hope to see this jump next week, and if it drops, there will be a longer rant.

~ What in the freaking name of...oh sorry, excuse me. Are you kidding me? I mean Gnash/Olivia O'Brien - I Hate U, I Love U, Sia/Kendrick Lamar - The Greatest, DNCE - Body Moves, and Fifth Harmony - That's My Girl are all dropping this is freaking ridiculous. I can't believe this. This is so bad.

~ Okay, I am really having a hard time not putting Kenny Chesney/P!nk - Setting The World On Fire in orange, considering how bad it is. I would love it if it left soon.

~ I would appreciate it if songs like Major Lazer/Justin Bieber/MØ - Cold Water didn't have the biggest drop of the week, considering that they are good.

~ I would love to see Mike Posner/SeeB - I Took A Pill In Ibiza's ghost at this point, but oh well. I mean seriously, this song can't keep doing this random jumping and dropping. Just leave.

~ Okay. I am literally done. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys needs to leave. I am sick of this. This song is terrible and I don't know who is still voting for this. This is literally the stupidest song this year lyric wise. The production isn't good, and the voice content sucks. I think this may be the worst song this year. I'm not even kidding.

~ I really would have appreciated it if Taylor Swift - New Romantics hadn't left this week. I mean, there was much worse that we needed to get rid of and I wasn't really ready to say goodbye to 1989's countdown reign just yet.

2016 American Music Awards Performance Reviews

gigi-hadid-jay-pharoah-amas-620x360.jpg (620×360)

Well, hey there guys! I hope you all enjoyed the 50,000 Pageview Special last night! In case you missed it, scroll below this post to check it out! So, today I'm here to bring you a quick performance review and recap of the 2016 American Music Awards. First off, let me say that the performances were very good and the show as a whole was good for the most part. Supermodel Gigi Hadid and Saturday Night Live star Jay Pharoah hosted the night. They were both pretty comical, but we didn't hear from them throughout the night much anyways, because I may have gotten annoyed at some point if we did. Hadid, a host with great humor and she did well with that widely despised Melania Trump impression, not saying that it was the best thing to do. Pharoah had a good night, was a great impressionist for some audience humor and that Taylor Swift remake commercial was hilarious, but not as good as the original, obviously. Anyways, let's get on with the post, shall we?

Green- A- - A+
Blue- B- - B+
Pink- C- - C+
Yellow- D- - D+
Red- F

Bruno Mars - 24K Magic
bruno-mars-amas16-696x385.jpg (696×385)
Comments: I would say that this was a pretty good way to start off the show, maybe not the best I can think of, but certainly decent at least. Mars was right on key for the most part and the backup singers sounded great. One of the things I liked most about this performance was that the audience was having fun, which is a good thing to have happen during a live performance.

Vocals: 21/25
Body Language: 22/25
Connection: 24/25
Presence: 20/25
Overall Grade: 87% (B+)

Niall Horan - This Town
maxresdefault.jpg (1280×720)
Comments: This was a very slow and very sweet performance. I don't think this guy ever needs autotune because he sounded exactly like he did in the song, with a few minor slip ups. I would say that this put a calm state over the audience and was a decent live performance.

Vocals: 24/25
Body Language: 18/25
Connection: 24/25
Presence: 22/25
Overall Grade: 88% (B+)

Fifth Harmony - That's My Girl
ap_16326084668201.jpg (670×377)
Comments: Now, this performance got generally bad reviews, as the ruins resembled that of the World Trade Center on 9/11, which now, I can kind of see, but not entirely. I don't think these girls, or the network would purposely do that anyway. So, looking past that, the girl's vocals weren't at their peak, but their body language and connection with the audience really improved my view on the performance, so it wasn't bad at all.

Vocals: 18/25
Body Language: 25/25
Connection: 24/25
Presence: 24/25
Overall Grade: 91% (A-)

The Chainsmokers/Halsey/Travis Barker - Closer
76cab09c81-624x328.jpeg (624×328)
Comments: This was definitely a step up from their Video Music Awards performance about three months ago. I think its pretty safe to say that this is probably the most favored electronic dance song this year, but who knows? Anyways, Taggart's and Halsey's vocals were on point and Pall and Barker had fabulous stage presence. I also liked how they switched the song up a little bit, which was very interesting, as the audience seemed to like it. This was definitely one of the best performances of the night.

Vocals: 25/25
Body Language: 24/25
Connection: 22/25
Presence: 25/25
Overall Grade: 96% (A)

James Bay - Let It Go

Comments: This was definitely a performance I could live without. Honestly, I think this song wasn't needed because it is way too old. James Bay was off key at some points, and he had barely any body language. The connection with the audience though, I have to admit, was exceptional. So, that's pretty much all I have to say about this.

Vocals: 17/25
Body Language: 5/25
Connection: 25/25
Presence: 23/25
Overall Grade: 70% (C-)

Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better/Mercy
shawn-mendes-ama.jpg (600×337)
Comments: This was very good. I would say that the vocals were pretty good and the stage presence was spectacular. Even though Treat You Better is old now, the live performance was still very good. Likewise, Mercy was very good as well. That's all I have to say.

Vocals: 23/25
Body Language: 21/25
Connection: 21/25
Presence: 25/25
Overall Grade: 90% (A-)

The Weeknd - Starboy
weeknd-starboy-amas.jpg (807×424)
Comments: First of all, I would like to say whatever it was that he was performing in was so cool. His voice was very good, but body language was lacking. I would have enjoyed if he moved around a bit more considering that this song originally features Daft Punk and is a bit more dance worthy, but it was good anyway.

Vocals: 23/25
Body Language: 18/25
Connection: 23/25
Presence: 23/25
Overall Grade: 87% (B+)

Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side To Side

Comments: This was a very good performance. This was also better than their Video Music Awards performance of this song. Nicki Minaj isn't the best live performer, so that docked the vocal grade, Ariana improved it though. Otherwise, body language was great to fit the song, the connection with the audience was good, and the presence was fantastic. Also, it was considered good because it is my favorite song at the moment.

Vocals: 22/25
Body Language: 25/25
Connection: 25/25
Presence: 25/25
Overall Grade: 97% (A)

John Legend - Love Me Now
58325f4e279f3edab27592a4 (750×416)
Comments: This was good at the least. I really liked the connection the pictures in the background conveyed, a very close message to the song. The dancing was kind of weird, but the vocals that John had were pretty good that night.

Vocals: 24/25
Body Language: 14/25
Connection: 25/25
Presence: 22/25
Overall Grade: 85% (B)

Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out/Heathens
maxresdefault.jpg (1280×720)
Comments: I loved this performance. This was definitely one of the best live performances I've ever seen. The vocals were so good and the body language was perfect. The audience loved it and the stage presence was almost perfect. I think it is safe to say Twenty One Pilots are amazing live performers.

Vocals: 24/25
Body Language: 25/25
Connection: 25/25
Presence: 23/25
Overall Grade: 97% (A)

Justin Bieber - Let Me Love You
583264007e5363392be07084 (750×416)
Comments: The fact that this was all the way from Italy was a good feature. The audience was crying, heaven knows why, which means the connection was good. Bieber had great a great dancing routine to compliment the song as well, so, all in all, it was a decent performance.

Vocals: 19/25
Body Language: 24/25
Connection: 25/25
Presence: 16/25
Overall Grade: 84% (B)

Lady Gaga - Million Reasons
et_112016_AMAPKG_vid5_HULU.jpg (1280×720)
Comments: This was a very sweet and audience friendly performance. Lady Gaga's vocals sounded exactly how they do in the track we hear on the radio, and I really don't know what else to say.

Vocals: 25/25
Body Language: 21/25
Connection: 24/25
Presence: 23/25
Overall Grade: 93% (A)

Green Day - Bang Bang
green-day-protest-ama-awards-c0c9f2b4-6a5e-4ffa-958e-c98e004f2493.jpg (1200×630)
Comments: This performance wasn't very good at all. The stage presence was terrible, like almost zero. Also, the vocals weren't very good, as well as the diss to Donald Trump which probably wasn't the best thing to do, but the only actual good thing that came out of this was that the audience was somewhat interested, but not me, of course.

Vocals: 11/25
Body Language: 4/25
Connection: 19/25
Presence: 2/25
Overall Grade: 36% (F)

Sting - I Can't Stop Thinking About You/Message In A Bottle/Every Breath You Take
rs-sting-tour-5473239b-5e10-4227-a783-7c7c8c593ed8.jpg (551×310)
Comments: The only part of this performance that I was somewhat drawn into was Message In A Bottle. The body language was mediocre at best and the vocals were dry, but the connection was somewhat good, so I'll give him that.

Vocals: 10/25
Body Language: 11/25
Connection: 22/25
Presence: 19/25
Overall Grade: 62% (D-)

DJ Khaled/Nicki Minaj/August Alsina/Future/Rick Ross - Do You Mind
dj-khaled-nick-minaj-august-alsina-future-rick-ross-696x385.jpg (696×385)
Comments: Okay, so this wasn't as bad as I had expected it to be. DJ Khaled brought the vocal grade down a bit, but the presence was very good and the body language was good as well, so I was very impressed with this.

Vocals: 16/25
Body Language: 21/25
Connection: 23/25
Presence: 23/25
Overall Grade: 83% (B)

Maroon 5/Kendrick Lamar - Don't Wanna Know
gettyimages-624765366-1855a7ef-3489-4f05-8cd3-3576f53d1e5e.jpg (1200×630)
Comments: This could have been better presence wise. Adam Levine showed barely any enthusiasm at the beginning, but it got better. The rest was good, though, so that's all I'm really going to say, besides that Kendrick Lamar did great.

Vocals: 25/25
Body Language: 24/25
Connection: 24/25
Presence: 17/25
Overall Grade: 90% (A-)

Top 5 Performances (Grade Wise):
1. TIE: Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side To Side

MI0004083594.jpg (400×217)
Well, hey there everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic week. If not, hopefully it will get better in time for Thanksgiving Week this week! So, on Tuesday afternoon, I am out of school until Monday morning. So, hopefully there will be some time to get the 50,000 pageview special out. I anticipate it to be out by this coming Wednesday, but it may be later. There also will be no pageview special until we reach 100,000 pageviews. I have made this a final decision that 75,000 pageviews will not be a special, as it will likely be reached this week and I don't want to put a bunch of extra weight on my shoulders. Also, tonight is the American Music Awards. on ABC. The lineup looks pretty good, so I'm excited to do a review of that for you guys. New Entrants

~ Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha both return to the countdown this weekend, now together with In The Name Of Love. This song is certainly a catchy tune and I would like to see it have some success on this countdown. Even though it has already departed from The Hot 45 Chart, I still highly regard it as a good song. You also may be seeing a re-entry on the chart in the near future, but possibly not.

In The Name Of Blurbs

~ I am very pleased to see that The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer has made its way back up to the top of the countdown.

~ I would really enjoy seeing both Coldplay/SeeB - Hymn For The Weekend and Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty leaving the top 10 next week. I legitimately haven't loved these songs since March, they are too old to be here.

~ On note of songs that shouldn't be in the top 10, OneRepublic - Kids makes an entrance this week. I think its safe to say that I was being generous this week by putting it in blue, it is very close to being pink. So, I would appreciate it if this song didn't clog the top 10 up.

~ Bruno Mars - 24K Magic isn't really doing much. It's pretty much staying in the teens, which I'm okay with at the moment anyway.

~ Well, I guess my luck is rubbing off. Andy Grammer - Fresh Eyes shouldn't be this high up. In fact, I would be very happy if it wasn't even here at all.

~ Okay, this is ridiculous. Bastille - Good Grief shouldn't be higher than songs like Side To Side, Starboy, Body Moves, That's My Girl, and I Hate U, I Love U. This song is just a space filler and frankly popular nowhere else.

~ I would've enjoyed seeing Jon Bellion - All Time Low jump a little more this week. Oh well.

~ X Ambassadors - Unsteady needs to leave for good. This song should've been gone months ago after that 27 spot drop out of the top 10, but of course Hits 1 logic prevents it from leaving.

~ There are worse songs worthy of the biggest decline in spots rather than Sia/Sean Paul - Cheap Thrills. This is so annoying.

~ Well, I don't know about you, but I am freaking sick of 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys being here. This song is so stupid, the title has no meaning, and the voices are so suckish. I swear, this is one of the worst songs this year, if not, the worst.

~ Well, I didn't want to see Nick Jonas - Bacon and Calvin Harris - My Way drop like this, especially considering that they weren't very successful here, which is crazy.

~ Lastly, I would like to recognize how ridiculous it is that Kiiara - Gold has left. I mean, come on Hits 1. You have had songs here for almost a year that are long overdue for a departure. Yet, you have to take one of the best songs here and give it the boot so early. When I heard Spyder Harrison announce this I was so mad.

maxresdefault.jpg (1920×1080)
Well, hey there everyone! This week's countdown was certainly eventful, but sadly, mostly in bad ways. There were some good eventful things going on also, but mostly bad things. I will talk about this concern more in the blurbs later on in this post. Also, today I went to see the new animated movie, Trolls. This movie was a lot better than I had expected it to be. #1 Recommendation For You: Bebe Rexha - I Got You

New Entrants

~ Our first entrant this week is Batille - Good Grief. This song is nowhere near as good as Pompeii, let's just say that. This song is a little different, and I like that vibe. Good Grief has good lyrical content as well. All in all, I would like to see this song do well, but if it flops, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

~ Lastly this week, is DNCE - Body Moves. This song is very close to being their best song. The singing is undoubtedly catchy and the beat makes it so much better. There is not much more to say about this song. All I hope is that it has very good success here.

Body Blurbs

~ I don't really think that Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better should just now be gaining the title "#1 song in North America". This song is aging, and it really should have got here sooner.

~ I am glad that Hailee Steinfeld & Grey/Zedd - Starving has jumped into the top 3 this week. This is definitely the place for this song. Here's to hoping it stays awhile.

~ I wish Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty would just give up already. It's not the time and place right now for it to be in the top 10.

~ This is some change that I like to see! We welcomed three new songs to the top 10 this week, and for once, they're all good! Maroon 5 - Don't Wanna Know, Sia/Kendrick Lamar - The Greatest, and Alessia Cara - Scars To Your Beautiful are all wished the best of luck moving forward.

~ I am very happy that Fifth Harmony - That's My Girl has jumped the highest number of spots this week. That is very refreshing.

~ It's very nice to see that Runaground - Chase You Down has accelerated to the top 20.

~ I would like to take this moment to recognize Twenty One Pilots - Ride dropping. Moment completed.

~ After seeing that movie this afternoon, Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling! has grown back on me.

~ I would love to see Nick Jonas - Bacon going in the other direction, thank you very much.

~ Can Calvin Harris - My Way make a significant jump back up sometime? This is really annoying me.

~ Let's get the very annoying 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys out of here. This song is so stupid.

~ Wow. Just wow. Can Kiiara - Gold not drop? This really made me really, really mad.

~ Okay, it's fine that Calvin Harris/Rihanna - This Is What You Came For dropped this much, but let's get rid of worse songs before this.
